Ignorant question but is the only real dangers of staying during a hurricane the flooding or is it a flood and an tornado combined? My husband's family live in Florida and they just board up the windows. Tornados to me seem much worse because my mom said they can eat your house.

It's not the wind that kills folks, it's the storm surge and the flooding. A house can be swept away in a blink of an eye.

It's multitude of things. Flooding probably kills the most, but this Hurricane is also rolling in with 145+ mph wind. So that means it can wipe out houses, and it also means everything traveling in the wind, can potentially be traveling at 145 MPH, which is also a pretty big killer. Also tornados, for the same reason.

Sidenote: The dude in the livestream seems like an amateur storm chaser, and it sounds like the dude is seriously trying to line up with the eye of the storm and be in it when it hits. What a crazy mf'er.

My 80 year old uncle lives in Corpus and when I talked to him his only comment about it was "I ain't runnin from no god damn storm". Okeydoke you stubborn old sumbitch.
