His brain was probably swollen due to ischemia/hypoxia and reperfusion injury, so they induced a coma in the event that function could be regained.

I knew this was gonna happen as soon as he started his new supplementation routine a few years ago. He went from being able to do handstands and shyt to being winded after a short walk.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Piana was good for the industry in some ways and horrible in others. Still motivated millions to train hard as hell and consistently. That big contribution will always be noted. On par with guys like Greg Plitt in terms of motivating people.

To answer your question here, rather than in a neg back comment:

No, of course I don't feel an emotional attachment to people/characters in the entertainment industry. I don't have favorite athletes, and if an actor who portrays roles in media that I find entertaining, dies, nothing in my life would change. I understand the hardship it will place on their loved ones, but everyone dies. Nothing about their passing will have any affect on my day to day or life.

For someone who doesn't care you sure are spending a lot of time posting a dozen comments in this thread. We get it, you don't mourn people you don't know! By all means, don't feel obligated to explain it any further.

After the 12th 'superior non-mourning' post I couldn't help but notice your incessant whinging. I mean I get your point, I'm not gonna mourn Piana either and I think his little slapbox feud was the longest I watched one of his videos, I just don't see the need to hammer it home 80 different times in such a twatty, condescending fashion.

I'd add a winky face here, but then I'm not a high school girl trying to be catty.

Dunno man I used to think that but if some of my favourite bands/musicians died I'd be pretty sad for a day or two. Would definitely affect me. That would only be less than five famous musicians. I'm too young/lucky for it to have happened to me yet.

Psychologically, the mourning of celebrity deaths is quite normal and understandable. Particularly, that collective mourning connects you to a larger community. Afterall, a forum is a community. Also, openly and actively expressing your thoughts and feelings about a celebrity's death can help you become a more active and open mourner when someone close to you dies.

I could bore you all with more and more info but if you're really interested in reading some in depth articles then it's easy to find via search.

The human brain is adapted for cavemen life and only knowing the people in your small village. When we see celebrities on TV and social media, our brain thinks we literally know these people IRL, thats why when celebrities are spotted in the streets ect, everyone flips the **** out and crowds around them trying to get closer ect. The brain hasnt adapted yet to TV and internet and the idea of a celebrity.

anyone who calls him "controversial" when he's dead doesn't even lift so their opinion doesn't even matter. He seemed like a cool guy

How could we have made these jokes years ago, if Rich Piana is only 23?
