I would bet that race played some part, all of you would be lying to say some small part of you doesn't want to root for the home team. No matter what color you are.

Although I'd say a much, much bigger part of it was Mayweather's attitude. They both play rich flashy guy, but if you've watched Mayweather documentaries, you know it's genuine. Connor is more of a good guy who knows how to put on a show. I've seen Mayweather park his Rolls Royce in handicapped spots, get out and say he doesn't care because he can pay the ticket lol.

That, and like he said, the fact that everyone loves the new, up and coming underdog.
