HBO's Game of Thrones - Open Discussion - Final Season VIII




Overview

Season 7 of Game of Thrones is over and now the long watch begins for the final Season 8. What we know about the last season:

1. May not air until early 2019. In June, HBO programming president Casey Bloys confirmed to Entertainment Weekly, that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were “going to work on the final season for the next year and a half,” and that “the final season could air in 2018 and/or in 2019 depending on their needs.”

2. Production on season eight is reportedly slated to begin in October and run as late as August 2018, but that scheduled has not been confirmed by HBO.

3. Game of Thrones’ eighth season will run for six episodes and may feature longer episodes. 80+ minutes each.

All this talk on the night king.

I guess we dont know exactly the name of him but, did we not see him become the king a few seasons back? The little forest kid stuck something in his chest and tunred him into the king so he could raise and army and fight the wildlings, no?

Bran saw it in his vision. I feel like if that guy was a STARK then somehow we should have known by now.

He doesnt even look like the NK. He looks like the NK's right hand man, cause of the long hair.


Also, I agree that it seems that the dragon being killed so they could destroy the wall was perfect timing. But maybe it was just that? Perfect timing? Took 7 seasons. NK was prob chillin like "phuck i got this sick army but how do I solve this wall problem?" Then one day a dragon comes and hes like "phuck ya. I bet if I kill that dragon and turn it then I can phuck that wall up."

Why cant it just be that simple?

Current Status of Main Characters


1. Cersei is at Kings Landing.

2. Jon and Dany are on a boat and on their way to White Harbor. From there, they will travel via foot to Winterfell.

3. Jamie has left Kings Landing and is on way to Winterfell?

3. Euron is in Essos to rent out Golden Company. See note on Golden Company below.

4. Starks are at Winterfell.

5. Night King is at East Watch. Beric and Tormund there as well. Presumably alive but barely.



- The Golden Company is a sellsword company active in Essos. They were founded by a Targaryen bastard by the name of Aegor Rivers. They are one of the largest and most skilled sellsword companies in the Free Cities, consisting of 20,000 infantry, cavalry, and war elephants. They have the reputation of never breaking a contract, which is quite uncommon among mercenary organizations, and are said to be one of the most powerful armies in the world.

Am I the only one pissed they never once addressed Jon's death? Even after Dany asking about it multiple times and finally seeing the scars.

Hopefully the writing is better next season than this one. This season seemed rush as hell to tie loose ends.

Jon has the best claim to the throne now. He is a legitimate Targaryen, not a bastard. Obviously the targs lost it by conquest but his claim is better than Danys now.

Jon's dad is Rhaegar. Rhaegar is Dany's brother. Big age difference between Rhaegar and Dany. Jon and Dany are about the same age.

My personal opinion...NK is like Bran. He can see everything.

He was waiting for the dragons to be brought to him hence why he was chilling.
