What's this Roja brand, is it new? I've been away from new releases and stuff for about 6 months. Reps for enlightening me
Nah its not new. He has been around since 2007. Former Guerlain employee who started his own line. His line is primarily composed of reinterpretations of older classics (usually Guerlain). Like any other house, he has some hits and some misses. One bad thing about the line is that it is a bit on the pricier side of things. Its definitely worth a sniff if you happen to be close to a store that carries the line.

This is my 2nd time wearing this stuff, and it's just not for me. It's nothing like the original ADG, at best maybe 60% similiar. Profumo is real dirty, earthy, and musty. I regretted wearing it the second I hopped into my car to come to work and closed the door and got a strong whiff of myself.

Still one of the greatest collections out there, and happy to purchase a few backups for the collection. Got four bottles for myself this time around, one is from a previous sale. The last opportunity for these bottles.

With this heat out here I've been sticking to lighter scents and keeping the rotation small. I may have to trade or sell off some of my collection because this weather is too hot for quite a few!

Agreed. To me it was a dislike from first sniff. Never looked back. Perry Ellis 360 red is much better.

Speaking of which, overcast day so SOTD = perry Ellis 360 black. Lovely fragrance, especially for the price!

My vote goes for this one.
Speaking about l'homme. Sometimes you need to smell someone elso wearing one of your bottles to fully capture what it smells like to other people.
Today I suddenly smelled whiffs of YSL la nuit de l'homme and fell in love with it again. (Didn't take it out after the luggage leakage incident)
I put Bleu de Channel on a friend a few weeks ago and a bit before that Aventus on a girl.
I really think that Aventus is a fragrance to attract men, it's so enticing to smell it on a girl.

I'm so lucky that not many men where I live are strongly into fragrances. They're expensive due to taxes and stores generally have WEAK selections. Plus we don't have big franchise stores like Macy's etc here.

So far the only scents I've smelled on men were: Perry Ellis 360 red and cool water (a few times these are popular here), Bleu de Chanel (like once), D&G The One(once outside my dad who has it) and various cheapies like celebrity scents, Calvin Kleins and Axe.

Couple weeks ago I finally smelled nautica voyage on a guy and wanted to fist bump him lol.

Another great shipment of decants from dark angel. Included spice bomb, treasure island, polo purple label, several gu ccis, boss the scent, and colonia leather.

Cant decide if i want to do spice bomb or the treasure island tonight. Both so good.

Took a trip to Banana Republic at the start of the month to check out the famed Signature Collection. I personally didn't find any of them to be of interest. It was basically a collection of impression based fragrances.

Vintage Green was like a hazier version of Jardin en Mediterranee. The essence is nearly identical, with a little bit of variance in the texture. Definitely one of the better ones among them, and I would place in the same class as fragrances like Vince Camuto Eterno, in the sense that it's probably worth checking out if you're not familiar with the fragrance it shares a distinct quality with (Polo Sport in Eterno's case).

Leather Reserve didn't really have any noticeable leather quality to it. And I'm not exactly sure where they were going with this one. It didn't smell like an impression of any fragrances I'm familiar with, but moreso went along with the actual Signature theme of fragrances with aromatic styles of certain periods in time. The Amber is very prominent in this one, but it's not very attractive (or well blended). It gives the fragrance a lot of uncomfortable warmth and depth, and kind of suffocates the presence of the other notes in an adulterated fashion.

Pure White was my favorite in the line. It was the most unique fragrance among them, and had an easy to love, fresh clean aromatic quality to it. It wasn't really really big on complexity, more of a minimalist type of fragrance. Not bad at all, but not a good selection unless it's a totally comfortable purchase.

Black Platinum was like a stripped down, original A*Men with a starry dark quality overshadowing it. The fragrance was very clean, seemingly well-composed, but also minimalist in comparison to the original A*Men. For fans of A*Men, this would be an amazing alternative. It has a unique quality to it, and I found its appeal to be a step above most of the collection.

Oud Mosaic was the most complex fragrance in the collection. It opens very powerful, and sharp, and the name suggests it represents some work of art. This must be a throwback to the Bond No. 9 house, because this fragrance uses the exact same Oud note that many Bond No. 9 fragrances have. Akin to this, it does desperately strive to come off fancy, but I can't say it actually has any attractive facets to capture your attention and keep the passion alive. Complex, but also bland. Can't see this one as anything more than a collector's item.

//

In other news, I think I might have stumbled upon an answer for issue regarding chemicals being placed in perfume (or distributors perfume ingredients) that invoke asnomia (the partial or total loss of smell). I was fully motivated to look into this after experiencing some issues with two recent Dua Fragrances, Caribbean Mojito and Matrix. I have a 16K11 batch decant of Aventus, and it seems to have the same issue (as aggressively reported). If you don't go outside right away, the olfactory seems to go dead real quick.

Typically, it's stated that large molecules "clog" the receptors and prevent them from being able to process aromachemicals. However, that doesn't correlate with the theory on ISO E Super (a very large molecule), which has legendarly been used in perfumery to OPEN the olfactory channels (as a G-Protein trigger). Considering this, I have deducted that the scenario must be the other way around. What truly happens is—that the Olfactory actually opens up channel in the presence of larger molecules in order to process them (increasing the potency of the sense of smell).

Now contrary to this, small molecules can lead to mass bindings on the neuron receptor, which in turn can overload them—and in this case—trigger the G-Protein trigger to close the channels (in attempts to protect the nerves). From this deduction, I have concluded that asnomia issues from certain perfumes must be due to lacing of very small molecules, which mass bind to the neuron receptors, and invoke varying degrees of asnomia.

Here is an illustrative example on the process. It's not the exact example in question, but is intended to elaborate on nature of the event itself.

Love my 360 Black, dat spicy nutmeg note, hnnnnggg!

I'm leery of staining my clothes.... but I will spray in my hair, which makes frags last a lot longer than on skin. Plus it gets a boost when the wind blows through it or you comb it. See that fine babe walking towards you down the street or in the mall? Get in a discreet comb through with a comb or your fingers to activate it. Works great!

lul sick idea. I spray at a relative distance from my clothes so the spray is dispersed alot. So far so good but again, I won't try on white/cream shirts.

And YES, dat nutmeg in the 360 black is BEAUTIFUL.
