I think its safe to assume that GRMM wont go for the Rhaegar annulled his first marriage and had a secret marriage with Lyanna
There are no secret weddings in Westeros, specially for noble class, much more so for royal class, and the bedding ceremony is a very big thing to them to make sure you consummate the marriage.
So it'll be interesting how GRMM will go with Jon Snow, would he remain a bastard, a legit heir to the throne, or would he actually remain dead? lol

- George RR Martin has said it's the Night's King instead of the Night King? Meaning he is a replaceable King?
- will Jon Snow and Daenerys have beef and conflict over claiming the throne? JS/AT has a more legitimate claim.
- I don't like how they did LittleFinger. They didn't even go into depth about his true intentions. We understand that he was playing the Game, but was his true desire just to take the throne? or was something else there?

- Sam is now the head of a somewhat major house, so maybe he can do something with that, plus he can probably make up some weapons/concoctions against the WWs
- there is no Night King in the books, the character was created by the showrunners. The Night's King mentioned by Martin is a completely different character, somewhat of a myth in Westerosi lore, the 13th Lord of the Night's Watch who supposedly banged and married a WW lady and then took over the Watch, but got later killed off. There was no reveal or origin story about the NK in the books.
- I don't think Jon gives a fuk about ruling, he's basically Rhaegar, very good at killing/ruling, but not really fond of it
- agree on the lackluster end of LF, I think he wanted to take over Winterfell as well on the side of Sansa and then work from there, but they really forgot about him and neutered his character. Shame.

Spoiler!
The Night's King is an unseen character in Game of Thrones, appearing only in the "The Histories & Lore: The History of the Night's Watch" featurette included in the Season 2 Blu-ray. He is a legendary figure known both in the Seven Kingdoms and among the Free Folk dwelling Beyond the Wall.
According to legend, the Night's King was originally a Lord Commander of the Night's Watch who found in the Haunted Forest a cold woman with bright blue eyes, seemingly a female White Walker. He took her to the other side of the Wall and declared himself the "Night's King". For thirteen years the two ruled over the brothers of the Night's Watch, performing human sacrifices. The Free Folk rallied under the banner of a King-Beyond-the-Wall and marched against the Nightfort, which the Night's King had taken as his seat, defeating him with the aid of House Stark.[1]

A bit of a tangential thought, but I was listening to a podcast and I know this is late, but something struck me as pretty damn crazy to look back upon:
Daenerys Stormbornof the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons," literallylocked upher own two dragons - herchildrenas per her words - inactual goddamn chains.
It's just kind of crazy when you look back to season 4, episode 10, but then think about how Daenerys is still hanging onto that title. Of course it's not the only tinge of hypocrisy, but given the importance she places upon the dragons as her children, that's pretty warped as far as mental gymnastics go.
Silver lining is that at least ol' Viserion now has someone who treats him withrespectand rides him into battle, too.
So here is where I will just amuse theideaof Bran = Night King:
Alternate timelines. Yup. A Song of Ice and Firemultiverse.
We don't know much about the Night King, but Bran can see the past, the present, and the future. However, what if the Night King is the result of afourthdimension in time that has intersected with the timeline of events taking place in the series?

Chaos is a ladder? More like an M. C. Escher painting.
~~~~
For the record, if that really,reallyturns out to be the big twist, I just don't f**king know anymore. Might be time to start drinking like early seasons Tyrion.
Spoiler!
I joked about it in the now locked thread, but I seriously think it would be hilarious if Jon legitimized Gendry and named him King in honor of Robert Baratheon or something.
Based on Littlefinger trying to wrap Sansa around his words to turn on both Jon and Arya, as well as his convening with other Northern lords behind closed doors, I think it's safe to say that he wanted to be the warden of the North with the next best thing to Catelyn Stark at his side as a bonus.
A point that I read before that now makes me really think they botched not only that plot, but a related one, is how Littlefinger and Varys were like two assassins with knives to each other's throats at all times with the machinations they hatched. Season 7 comes around, and both of them are neutered, basic b*tches.
Also worth noting is that the showrunners even made a point tosaythat the whole Arya vs Sansa drama wasintentionallyto make viewers think that the two were going to possibly turn against each other:
D&D were betting on the wrong horse in that whole game, thinking that Arya vs Sansa was somehow the adversarial relationship to invest into over one of the most detrimental schemers in the series.
Maybe you're onto something but are we going to pretend that the children and other innocent people the NK's army murdered weren't good people and Bran is just saving the people who he thinks are good?
I think he was just referring to Sam being a good person...helping Jorah the Friendzoner with his greyscale, helping Gilly and the baby, etc...
If the NK = Bran theory ends up happening I'll be very disappointed. It just doesn't make sense to me with what we've been shown so far in the series.
It would make the Children of the Forrest who lived for thousands of years look like buffoons.
It would make Jojen look dumb as fuk. brb being able to see the future and giving up his life to help the guy who ends up killing you and thousands of others.
It would make the original Three Eyed Raven look even dumber. brb could see the past, know that Bran is the NK...help his ass in the present so he could kill you and thousands of others.
So far the biggest basis I see behind this theory is their outfits look similar...well ho lee fuk!
Yes there is obviously some kind of connection there but I think it's more likely the NK had similar powers to Bran and was a Stark.
Definitely. Many say that GRRM basically wrote himself in as Sam, and him heading to Winterfell clearly had some significance - especially after him and Bran discovered Jon's lineage.- George RR Martin has said it's the Night's King instead of the Night King? Meaning he is a replaceable King?
TheNight's Kingis actually much younger than theNight King, and presumably unrelated:Originally Posted By George
The wikia explanation of the former is as such:"As for the Night's King (the form I prefer), in the books he is a legendary figure, akin to Lann the Clever and Brandon the Builder, and no more likely to have survived to the present day than they have."
Spoiler!
According to legend, the Night's King was originally a Lord Commander of the Night's Watch who found in the Haunted Forest a cold woman with bright blue eyes, seemingly a female White Walker. He took her to the other side of the Wall and declared himself the "Night's King". For thirteen years the two ruled over the brothers of the Night's Watch, performing human sacrifices. The Free Folk rallied under the banner of a King-Beyond-the-Wall and marched against the Nightfort, which the Night's King had taken as his seat, defeating him with the aid of House Stark.[1]
- will Jon Snow and Daenerys have beef and conflict over claiming the throne? JS/AT has a more legitimate claim.
Without a doubt. Daenerys'onlyclaim to the throne has been her bloodline, and now there is someone whose bloodline trumps her own claim.I joked about it in the now locked thread, but I seriously think it would be hilarious if Jon legitimized Gendry and named him King in honor of Robert Baratheon or something.
- I don't like how they did LittleFinger. They didn't even go into depth about his true intentions. We understand that he was playing the Game, but was his true desire just to take the throne? or was something else there?
Had the whole Winterfell scheme had a few more episodes to stew, I think it could have felt like a return to some of the original intrigue of the earlier seasons of the show.Based on Littlefinger trying to wrap Sansa around his words to turn on both Jon and Arya, as well as his convening with other Northern lords behind closed doors, I think it's safe to say that he wanted to be the warden of the North with the next best thing to Catelyn Stark at his side as a bonus.
A point that I read before that now makes me really think they botched not only that plot, but a related one, is how Littlefinger and Varys were like two assassins with knives to each other's throats at all times with the machinations they hatched. Season 7 comes around, and both of them are neutered, basic b*tches.
Also worth noting is that the showrunners even made a point tosaythat the whole Arya vs Sansa drama wasintentionallyto make viewers think that the two were going to possibly turn against each other:
D&D were betting on the wrong horse in that whole game, thinking that Arya vs Sansa was somehow the adversarial relationship to invest into over one of the most detrimental schemers in the series.
thanks for shedding light on some of those topics, boyos.
Also forgot to mention that I'm waiting for the battle between Clegane Brothers. It's like our generation's Undertaker vs. Kane
Chris Hemsworth and Leif Stacy look the closest to me.
Hemsworth:
Stacy:
Obviously we're not homo (r-right boyos?) but with as legendary as Rhaegar was, I thought he should make a greater impact with his charm and appearance. But the only thing people could think in the finale was how close the guy looked to Viserys. Kind of a let down.
PS i think that popular pic of Rhaegar next to Hemsworth really sucks.
