I don't see how Sandor would stand a chance against Gregor. He could barely hang with him when they had their little dust-up at the jousting match, and that was before Gregor was on full on zombie'd out.

Benjen's response was 'You would if you knew what it meant'

AKA Benjen was aware that Jon is a legitimate Targaryn and rightful heir

I would like to see a series about the first long night, 8,000 years before GoT. That way you don't have to re-cast younger versions of characters and big plot points aren't already ruined by the GoT storyline.

The war between the first men and the children, the andals conquering south Westeros, Bran the builder creating the wall and Winterfell, the creation of the Night King, the Stark's being among the first men and the first to alliance with the children, potentially the first three-eyed raven.... Possibilities are endless.

Could even tie in how the Starks and Targaryens are the only families with magic blood. Targaryens are resistant to fire, and starks have greensight and warging abilities.
lol yup if you watch any thoery videos on youtube they cover the gamut of foreshadowing in the show. Prepare to be mind blown boyo. This is another big one:

"HBO made it a point to focus the camera on young Ned Stark placing Ser Arthur Dayne’s sword down at the end of Lyanna’s bed as she lay in blood.

Why is this significant? Because Dayne’s legendary sword — Dawn — was said to be made from metal forged from the heart of a fallen star. And this relates back to the prophecy of Azor Ahai. Azor Ahai is a prophesized hero who will lead the battle against the Others (the White Walkers) in the great battle between the living and the dead. Jon Snow is Azor Ahai: Born beneath a bleeding star
"

A Long Night series would be awesome. Actually any ancient history stuff would be GOAT but there's no shortage of material. They could even cover unknown places like the Shadowlands.

zombie'd out Gregor is weaker than human Gregor.

zombie'd out Gregor is just an emotionless 90% strong dead guy. Human Gregor was full of rage, testosterone and killing intent.

Sandor challenging the Mountain
The Mountain Goin Zerker status
Robert halting them both with his voice

Too much test in that scene.

btw - the actor who plays the Mountain here is different than the current actor.

I agree that Jon is probably azor ahai, if it is not Tyrion (a little far fetched, I know).

The sad thing is that part of the prophecy of the prince that was promised is forging lightbringer from the blood of a dead wife. And who does that look like its going to be at this point?

I also haven't ruled out Beric Dondarrion (sp?) for Azor Ahai, he's the only one who seems to be keen to the Night King besides Jon.

There have actually been three actors to play Gregor; right now and since season 4, it has been played by a strongman champion. The actor that played the Giant King, Lun-Lun, also played the Mountain at one point.

Because Robert Baratheon was alive and would've had him murdered, like he did every other Targaryen. And after Nedd and Benjen died (or disappeared, or whatever), no one alive appeared to know.

That's why Ned didn't tell him either, and sacrificed his own honor by lying and saying it was his bastard.

lol I'm glad you're getting introduced to the theories, it definitely makes the show even more interesting and mind blowing.

The bit about forging lightbringer - maybe it could involve Dany's death which would fulfill the bittersweet ending we keep getting warned about.

What I'd like to see though is some kind of count of what GoT prophesies have been realized, and which havent. Otherwise it's like we're being handed the script to the ending in advance if everything falls in line with prophecy.

Yeah now it's big bad Hafthor now. Though I thought the Season 1 actor looked way more like a brother to Sandor.

I think THAT was due to some slight overacting, but directing influences acting, and GoT uses multiple directors. It's why guys like Peter Jackson do many takes to get inflections or expressions just right.

I started being less critical when I got more into her story. Plus she was the only bright spot on the show after the red wedding trauma.
Funny thing is she's actually more likeable/better written in the show. In the books she legitimately has the worst chapters, up there with Brienne. GRRM has had her character doing jack **** for way too long

That Benjen line about "'You would if you knew what it meant'" could mean anything - I saw it more as he's still young so has never been with a woman or anything yet. Most of the people at the wall are criminals who don't willingly join at such a young age without experiencing the world, which is what Jon does. He had only known Winterfell when he left to join. Don't even think the line is in the books.

I don't think anyone but Ned and Howland Reed knew (and Ashara Dayne maybe or that wet nurse whose name I can;t remember)

Don't buy it. Just cause ben tells jon doesn't mean they need to announce it right away.

Anyway. How did they get the zombie to kings landing? I thought the magic wall made it so the u dead couldn't pass through? That's why benjin said he could t pass through with them (after being brought back to life).

I thought about this, too.

But when bran was with the 3 eyed raven, he was protected by the same magic in that cave. However once the night king touched him, the wights and white walkers could enter the cave. Perhaps because bran went south of the wall, the wights and white walkers can now too?

Yes this. Once NK touched Bran, the magic was lifted and he could pass the wall.

Since the NK controls the wights, they can pass as well.

It stopped the wights from entering the cave, too. They tried and basically exploded when they entered.

We did see wights at castle black, which is technically south of the wall. But Commander Mormont sent a ranger south with a severed hand from one of these wights, and it died once he rode south.

Can I just say that I'm a little disappointed in the lack of brutality or death scenes from season 7?

All throughout the first 5 seasons, there are gnarly ass kills. Kind of fell off after season 6. Perhaps because they're not following the books.

Hell the best kill in season 7 was Littlefinger, and it was only a quick throat cut.

I hope/think Jaime is azor ahai. It would fit his new course in life and wouldn't be as obvious as jon or dany. Plus I can see him killing cersei to safe the world kind of thing, at the same time creating the lightbringer.

My own personal theory is that the three prophecies of Azor Ahai, the Prince that Was Promised, and the Stallion that mounts the World refer to three different people. Jon, Dany, and Jaime.

In the third and fifth novels, Melisandre states "When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone. The bleeding star has come and gone, and Dragonstone is the place of smoke and salt. Stannis Baratheon is Azor Ahai reborn!". While Dragonstone (a volcanic island) can indeed be considered as place of "smoke and salt", Stannis was not born there but in Storm's End, and so far has not woken any dragons from stone; Daenerys, on the other hand, was born on Dragonstone, and has hatched fossilized dragon eggs into live dragons, in a miraculous ritual under the red comet at the pyre of her late husband Drogo. Apparently Melisandre is unaware that Daenerys is more likely to be Azor Ahai than Stannis, based on her own words.

RIP Pedro Suarez Vertiz. Te queremos Hermano

If your right leg is Thanksgiving and your left leg is Christmas, can I come and visit you between the holidays?

Of all the great names in the world of Ice & Fire, Azor Ahai sounds citty honestly

and it makes me wonder, did he defeat the whitewalkers in Westeros? because the name Azor Ahai doesn't sound Westerosi, his wife's name sounds ****ty too, Nissa Nissa lol

EDIT: I just saw this

so maybe he was just called Azor Ahai in the Asshai version, but called other names in other places.

He was probably Eldric Shadowchaser in Westeros or Neferion
