oh god you conspiracy theorists need to find a new hobby. Apple isn't going to "force" anyone to use any one feature, and if they do then thats the reason why they suck and everyone should go to Android. The New S8 and Note 8 have fingerprint scanner/iris scanner capabilities that are completely optional

I don't use the fingerprint scanner on my S8 because its placed in a awkward position. I don't use the iris scanner because wearing glasses (or if you set it up WITH glasses and are not wearing them) can interfere with proper log in, and someone can simply log in by holding up a picture of your face to the screen. I just stick to the tried and true pin number (the same one that I use for my debit card) so I don't forget.

Somewhat considering going back to a flip phone...srs

Used to be diehard stock Android fan. Would always get Nexus phones, and have a Pixel now.

After Google revealed their SJW colors, and all that, I might just go back to a flip phone.

What's the news on the actual phone design?

Saw the new Note with it's Infinity edge screen... iPhone 8 going to have something vastly different from the 7?

Facial recognition? Fook that. The finger print recognition works less than half the time for me.

Apple usually comes later in the game but when it puts something out it's executed well. Typing from an iPhone 5s, still works like a charm.

To each their own but iphones are much more practical imo, they do everything they are supposed to do

I ruined my iphone 5s a few weeks ago now I'm wating for the 8 to come out, in the meantime I'm using an android phone and oh boy it's horrible. I guess the better phones like galaxy s8 work better but this one is just chit. And my overall android experience is rather bad

I'll stick to my jail-broken Android phone with clean Android OS install or CyanogenMod/Lineage. I see 0 use out of my phone unlocking itself when it recognizes my face.

I just don't get technology. This is something that would have sounded cool to a 14 year old me but how can any adults get excited over this? What is even the point of it? It doesn't exactly make my life easier. And just lol at adults getting excited over buying a new phone

I've never understood why companies think we want this?

Like never have I wanted to be able to talk out loud to my phone to do a google search, I don't want to unlock it with a fingerprint, I don't want to unlock it with my face
