I always had the idea of dropping a bomb in it. As a kid I would watched the water drain in the tub and make a big swirl, then spit in it and it would stop the swirl. Extensive scientifically research was had.

We can't do much about clouds thousands of feet up in the air. That's what hurricanes essentially are....bunch of clouds grouped together.

Maybe we could burn them out of the sky, Blow them away using ginormous fans or cool the water down to take away the energy.

All these options will require mind numbing scale which is just not achievable.

Maybe I'm just on that conspiracy time but if I'm not mistaken the government posses the capability to divert/alter storms and weather through a program called HAARP that uses very high frequency radio waves shot straight into the ionsphere. But that they just don't want it known to other nations that they possess the technology to do this.

Friends worked in the navy and said they had missions to create typhoons in the pacific to take out enemy war ships.

We can stop hurricanes if we want but net economic gain too great since rebuilding adds 4 points to GDP

Atleast I gave a disclaimer.... In all seriousness there might be technology to dissipate a few clouds but storms of this size and power are most likely still untouchable by man.

It is true that countries have accused US of altering their weather before though, that had to of come from somewhere right?

If it hits Cuba like in the EGRI model, then it'll likely end up in the Gulf and that would be bad news for TX/LA/AL as it could turn into a Cat 5.
