I hate people who start text messages with a drawn out "soooo". That **** is basic and annoying enough face to face. Seriously, it's a text. Get to the god damn point. Would borderline consider going no contact on her just for that.

I'm aware of what being friend zoned in. She wouldn't have made out with him or went on multiple dates with him if that were truly the case. She's somewhat into him, just not as much as her ex, and there's not much he can do about it.

Most chicks after a relationship want to have a quick f3ck with nsa or minimal friend relations unless the guy is incredibly attractive and amazing in bed. Id move to another girl. Thats what i did when i was in your situation. Next time your in this position getting laid asap is a good idea because the longer you drag it on the less likely anything will happen.
