Yeah man, who cares about biology and facts? lol

Men have theirceilingdecline in their mid 20s on average. This is a bit relative to how fast you personally age/when you hit puberty as well as when you started training physically. The ceiling for strength doesn't really decline though.

There's a reason pro-athletes are at their best in their 20s. This doesn't mean you start sucking in your 30s and 40s. It just means your peak performance isn't as good as it used to be. Same story for looks, intelligence/brain capacity, appeal to women and so on.

Sports where guys start competing later in life instead of at like 12 years old have guys peak in their 30s.

I fee like the only sports where you really hit your wall by 30 are contact sports and that is more the injuries catching up than anything. Guys continue competing at a high level in other sports well past 30.

Pure COPE.

OP to answer your question, medically and physiologically, your body begins to decline at the age of 26. Muscle mass, bone density, etc all begin a slow dip starting around this age. At 22-24 likely you have peaked. From there, it is a steady genetic disintegration until you wither away to skin and bones.

Thats not to say you cant be in better shape in your 30s than your 20s. If you put in the work you surely can increase muscle mass, decrease fat, etc. But it is much harder to see these changes than when in the early 20s, and the adaptations will have a lesser magnitude.

[QUOTE=ivanhoek1;1518528911]Tore my calf playing basketball at 33.. prior to that I was essentially bulletproof. Have to be careful now and actually warm up etc..[/QUOTE

This.

Those who play competitive sports can tell the truth. Rest itt are idiots who just lift and think they are healthy because they exercise sitting or run on treadmill.

Id say 31 was peak. I actually warm up, strectch good prior to game. And during thr game start to get tired and pick my runs when i play soccer now.

Into my 30s, I was reckless and played 3-4 times a week and tore my addutors and lower abs where i had to get surgery.

Im carrful now.

Well yeah but I can't remember not feeling pain for a while.

I try not to do dumb **** that will get me sprained ankles and tweaked backs.

I know they can also happen on innocuous things but many are preventable.

For example playing sports past a certain age is pretty cringe and begging for something bad to happen if you play with too much intensity.

Most of my perceived "good fortune" is probably due to living the healthiest lifestyle I have in my life, ex. eating a ton fruits of vegetables for the first time in my life.

Got stronger into 30's, but anyone that has played competitive sports over a long period of time (decades) will know peak is early to mid-20's. You can be in killer shape in your 30's but there's a noticeable difference.

I can still get to 10% bf and stay 12-13% year-round, but not at the same LBM, not with the same workout frequency and not getting away with eating chit/drinking at the same time. Injuries and aches are more frequent and recovery time decreases.

I just turned 30 and I feel better now than in my 20s. Only because it's harder to get and stay in shape. So my diet, workout and rest are all wired up better.

33 now, feel just like i did at 26 except with more money. Sure I can't party as hard as I used to, but I'm finding myself wanting to do less of that anyway.

The key is taking care of yourself, most people (men and women) stop giving a fuk and they poor lifestyle choices start to take their toll. Most people around my age fukkin repulse me with the shape they're in.

25 for me

-started getting constipated...have to drink a ton of water and take fiber sometimes
-i gain fat a lot faster now. i have to watch what i eat
-aches and pains from sitting all day
-grey hair + back hair

so, i believe my body is declining, but it's not giving up or anything. i have to actually take care of it like a car with 100,000 miles.

In regards to fitness, the decline only assumes you've reached your potential. If I lift but never do cardio my cardio fitness will decline as I age but if I all of a sudden begin to run then it won't decline but the peak I can reach will decrease

I'm 33 and I'm strong as I have ever been. I don't think strength declines for a long time if you're working out consistently

Now my athleticism def has taken a hit. Maybe it's because I don't do sports as much as I used to but I'm positive that I have lost a step when it comes to speed. Still athletic though. I also get injured easier than I used to

The real answer is different for most, but mid 30s is probably the answer. I believe that is the age range where your test starts to drop. Therefore progress and even maintenance could be an issue.

If you think the epitome of fitness is just picking up weights and putting them down then you can easily not see a major decline until your 30's or maybe even 40's if you were a genetic beast to begin with. But if you are into things that require actual fitness and athleticism then it is probably late 20's. There is a good reason that sports that require strength, speed, and agility are dominated by people in their 20's to early 30's.

Early 30s and I don't feel any different. I've been in good to great shape most of my life and I've taken care of myself so it really isn't a surprise for me.

I don't doubt you start to decline in your late 20s but it's so subtle you hardly notice it. Usually reflexes start to go first and strength is the last thing to go. But we shouldn't be comparing ourselves to top level athletes anyway. They put their bodies through stress, wear and tear, Orange juice and injuries that could be equivalent to many average people 10 folds.

For the average male you are probably good in your late 40s, and even 50s if you take care of yourself.

But I don't doubt people age differently due to genetics and lifestyle.
Kindness is all that matters in life
