Nice house. Can you give some more details without giving up your location? How many beds/baths, sq footage etc. What are the taxes like? HOA? Regardless looks really nice. What's a "good" income like there? Good place for early retirement?

I forget the name of the show, but there's a house flipping show on hgtv and their main area is Texas. Always a little shocked at how cheap housing is in Texas

WTF. Even in Houston 165K won't buy you pretty much anything. Do you live in a small city or something? C'mon man. Just tell us. I'm super curious. No one's going to stalk you.

Nice house OP.

LOL @ at all the crazy house prices in other parts of the US/world. You can buy that house all day long in Texas. Although that yard is a major bonus.

I live in a market with fairly low cost of living and even here that house would be 280k-350k depending on what part of town

Just got back from Canada.

That house would easily be over 3 million there. It's absolutely pissening...

Mind blown at this house costing so much everywhere else. I legit believe OP paid what he said he paid for said house. Seems appropriate for this area.

Mirin, op

Welcome home boyo!
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

that backyard and land mass is what makes the house and everyone want it.

Sad now that the dream of many people who live in the west and not in america is that they want to own their own house.
but with alot of people not able to do that.. it forces everyone to work.. and forces everyone to buy a house and get a loan from a bank.
Generation or 2 in peoples bloodline may not even own a house..

This is the chains that hold the modern man.. debt.

It is insane how expensive it can be just to get a tiny rundown condo in the hippest areas of a big city. It really is true, it is all about location location location. I personally don't mind driving a bit to get into the city but I understand to many people the ability to walk to downtown is so important that they are willing to come to a 1 bedroom condo.
