yeah no I'm not that kind of vegan. And yes it is morally superior. unless you want to explain to me how a person who goes out there way to avoid unnecessary death and suffering isn't morally superior to someone who blatantly commits acts that promote unnecessary death and suffering.

Ummm... because every society since the first human walked upright ate insects, fish, birds, reptiles, and mammals. That is until arrogant vegans came along in the 21st century and thought they were morally superior. I'm sure ancient man developed the spear and atlatl because sticks and flint are fun to tote around...

Don't forget that humans need specific amino acids found exclusively in meat (traditionally). Apparently we're all supposed to be vegan because superior diet yet specific plant-based amino acids didn't arise in abundance until we began heavily domesticating crops.

animals are here for consumption because we are sentient and they are not - I have hunted long enough to see that animals are reacting to the external stimuli not from being injured.

vegans aren't exactly healthy either. their diet is very high carb and high sugar... it's not a diet based on health but moral reasons.

best thing you can do is eat meat 1-3 times a week and skip the milk and most dairy products which are disgusting anyway. go for almond/coconut milk and other healthier products.

I don't drink milk, and at some point will be buying from places where I can know the animals were treated as well as they could be -

But it's interesting how at some point in time, society decided to be "better". We stopped killing, enslaving, raping etc. And somehow we give ourselves no credit for that - and instead need to take everything to the nth level as far as "being good" is concerned. When it wasn't too long ago there was no law, freedom, peace etc, and we would have just killed all the vegans.

This is the way to be I think, constantly trying to be more good and less bad. If you can afford to eat a grass-fed cow that lived on a farm instead of a stockyard, I think that's the better ethical move. Veganism is maybe an even better ethical choice.

No matter what though, the key to swaying people to your point of view is by being understanding and taking small steps. It never works if you put forth your arguments like an aggressive, holier than thou hipster douche.

More intelligent individuals are more likely to become vegan.

Most people have an overwhelming amount of confirmation bias. Vegans have it too, which muddies the waters and makes it harder to see the truth. We need more people like you.

I'm of the opinion if you look at the data holistically and without bias, most of the data is on the vegan side.

It takes more production farming to feed animals than it does to feed humans. Yes, farming quinoa kills animals. But it takes more grain to feed a cow and therefore kills MORE animals, not even including the cow, in the farming process. It will always be more efficient to get your nutrient straight from the source (plants) rather than filtering them through an animal.
