Persistance pays off. Just landed an agreement with a former Columbia pictures producer to write a screenplay for him (work for hire, I write it, he owns it, but I get a screenwriting credit) based on historical events. Small cashout when finished and a % of the net profits of the film. Booyha!

About how it works from what I was taught. At least until you get your blockbuster at which point you get to set the price. Congrats!

So 8 days after surgery, still have to rely on my wife to help me in and out of bed, make my food, get my medicine... Thank God for such a sweet dedicated loving gal. And no, no pics. Don't ask.

Great post, OP

Have yet to read the entire thread but in case no one has mentioned it...

In addition to what OP said, 43-year-old me says to 20-year-old me:

- Try to have at least three friends you can rely on...someone you know you can call at 2am for anything...whether it's a shoulder to cry on, or if you need rescuing from a bad situation, etc. Be that person to someone as well.

- Don't get credit cards. Always try to have at least 3 months of income in savings then you shouldn't need credit cards

Agree with above except for this part. You really do need to build a credit rating. You just have to be very careful on how you use/managed it.

My 75 year old mother had both hips replaced within 5 months of each other and is back to pretty much normal at this point. It took her a month or so after each one to stop needing the cane, but the recovery was surprisingly fast overall, she was able to take steps (with the cane of course) the day after the surgery, when she basically couldnt walk at all prior. Good luck brah, just keep on your rehab and power through the initial discomfort. She was in a lot of pain prior to the operations, she couldnt even get up or down off the chair when it was at the worst, and now says shes doing great as far as day to day activity and comfort.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.
