I can understand the whole addiction side of things.

But there is no excuse for throwing cig butts onto the streets. They absolutely disgust me. A synthetic tube that has some filthy wankers saliva embedded on the end of it. That won't break down naturally. The most gross ones are the ones with lipstick on the end.

Thankfully here in the UK it's quite rare to see people smoking these days.

Most people in Europe seem to smoke though.

I actually don't care if people have self-harming addictions. It's their lives. The problem is that smokers stand next to every building entrance, making everyone smell their second hand smoke. Also, tossing cigarette butts onto the ground and out the car window. wtf.

I'm saying it based on anecdotal evidence from family members and friend's relatives who made it to old age despite of their smoking habit

I agree that smokers should have some etiquette, but smoking alone is not necessarily going to make you die early, many people get away with it

Used to smoke from 14-18. Most useless addiction ever. It only feels good to smoke, because you get rid of the urge. The whole ''I love the process'' is bullchit. You love it, just so you can feel free.

Cons of smoking:

- Waste of money
- Health issues
- It stinks
- Teeth and overall appearance depreciates faster
- WORST of all - you cannot enjoy life if you don't have a smoke

Pros:

- Ice breaker

I think that is the only pro of smoking. Aside from all the other cons, not all, but a lot of them are fukking douchebags. They will smoke near me, near kids, in staircases or in parks. Nobody wants to inhale that chit.

^^ The littering aspect is fukking infuriating. I don't care what stupid things you do to your own body (just don't ask the state to pay for your health when it goes to chit) but WHAT is it about a cigarette that makes people completely forget that littering is a dick move?

I do wish I smoked tho so I could take 10+ paid breaks a day to just hang out and chat with other smokers. Srs my job allows smokers two 10m smoke breaks per day and I don't know a single smoker at my job who only takes two breaks. Back when I was hourly and my boss caught me goofing off I'd just say "at least I don't smoke" and they'd just nod and agree.

It is a disgusting habit. I watched an old lady purchase three cartons of cigarettes yesterday. The clerk behind the counter was talking about the feeling he gets when he pulls a pack out of the freezer and lights up. Gross. I was tempted to ask how much 3 cartons cost. I imagine close to $200.

Some people who smoke, smoke indoors and have pets. Those pets get lung cancer because their owners smoke. Fuk them.

I hate cigarettes but the act of smoking still has nostalgic value and coolness to it. I wish we had the technology to create safe (and perhaps healthy) cigarettes one day.

Cigs and the mj are absolutely disgusting. My coworkers smoke like 10 cigs a day and thats just during the working hours, I bet they smoke atleast 15 to 20 before and after work with the drinks they have after work. They are all overweight, eat like shyt, look like shyt, cant walk up one floor without gassing out. I think its a common trend to give into temptations, no self control with what they eat or drink.
