I watch it, but I don’t find it funny, i just like the characters. The plot is just bland sometimes or a rip off of another media.

Pickle rick wasn’t funny. Like “oh he’s a pickle! Hahahaha such great writing”... come on.

I've been hearing a lot about this show so I watched the first two eps. Question: does it get better? It hasn't blown me away so far

Same old chit, just like in the case of all popular shows. Show starts, gathers a solid fanbase, gains publicity, then all the meme******* channer/tumblr idiots flock to the show and start spewing their "omg 2deep4u, lol you a need high IQ for that", while edgelords start opposing them and it all turns to a chitshow. Was the same with Breaking Bad, it's especially bad with Game of Thrones. Problem is, this is a cartoon, so it attracts tons more manchildren than live actor shows, all of them wanting to appear somehow superior to the other strangers on the internet.

It's a cartoon. You like it? Cool. You don't? Cool. There is no hidden/deeper meaning, and no, you're not Einstein for getting the jokes on a tv show in MSM.

-morty is phucking unbearable, the whiny little **** is the worst part of the show
-ricks burping was funny the first time, then its just annoying
-cramming obvious cheap phylosopy down on you is not something I expect from a cartoon, because... its just a cartoon
-yeah I get it, beth's husband doesn't deserve anything for being a loser a so should be ridiculed everytime and have no redeeming qualities... not really.
-my coworkers have these "deep" philosophical conversations about the show every now and then.. cringe

overall the show is Ok ... but not deserving the hype (9.4 imdb, wut ?)

I can see a lot of you guys are watching the show expecting to laugh as if its a comedy. Rick and Morty isn't categorized solely as a comedy show. Its first and foremost an action/adventure show that happens to have bits of comedy in it. Because of Looney Toons, americans always associate animated shows with comedy as if they're suppose to be nonstop laughs. Thanks to anime, american made cartoon are slowly starting to break out of that shell.

As the seasons progressed, the characters have drastically changed as well. You'll probably like the newer Morty in season 3 (though the old Morty still shows up every once in awhile)

Pickle Rick was funny lmao you just have no sense of humor, the fact that he turned himself into a pickle to avoid that situation is hilarious on it's own.

I like the show, but get really tired of the memelord nonsense after every episode. Pickle Rick was funny when I watched the episode. Immediately after everyone got on some crazy fukn hype about it (I know more than one person with a Pickle Rick tattoo), it became super annoying and cringey. Still watch the show, just don't like when people blow it way out of proportion.

The first couple episodes I wouldn't really consider rick and morty. It's like they wrote a pilot that was about Family Guy level humor, to get picked up for a season. Then it actually does get intelligent and funny.

Like that youtuber a couple posts up, I actually like Rick and Morty a lot. There's some great references and intelligent humor. Like when Rick looks back in time to watching 9/11 live, and he shouts at the TV "OH GREAT A NEW EXCUSE TO STRIP US OF ALL PRIVACY" or something. There's a lot of small moments that you'll only catch on the 2nd viewing.

However, I agree that Rick & Morty has the cringiest fan base of any show I've seen. Lets be honest, NO TV show, let alone an Adult Swim cartoon, actually caters to intelligent well read audiences. R&M isjustdeep enough that you'll understand a reference and think you are smart for doing so. In that regard, it's genius writing because all the viewers think they are in on some joke that others don't get.

It plays on the hilarious fact that something like 95% of people consider themselves more intelligent than average. And the writers know it.

So much this. went to a festival 2 weeks ago, 2 weeks ago it was the first time i saw pickle rick episode. I saw countless of rick and morty shirts, pickle rick shirts, banners, and big ass posters in that festival.

OP, you're obviously missing the point of the show. Probably going over your head. Thinking it has to be funny merely because its a cartoon. Nice narrows frame of mind.

I think it's a great show and a smart show. But just because something is well done doesn't mean you're smart for getting it.

Bojack horseman > Rick and Morty.

Its a decent show, but neck beards just make everything a cringe fest. Same thing with GoT. I just enjoy the show and never talk about it anymore.

Watched it on Netflix a few years ago. Thought season 1 &2 were good. Some episodes were great others did really suck. Haven't watched any of the new stuff.

Bevis and Butthead is not on tv anymore

I've never heard of Decker

and Robot Chicken....really? Its basically an animated SNL that pokes fun at 80's pop culutre. Its got its moments but thats a long shot to say its as clever as Rick and Morty.
