Or

When she finds out you tricked her she'll divorce you like you were thinking she might before, which will suck for the kid.

Those are the only three possible scenarios that I see, and they are all negative, but you're doing it anyway because it will make you briefly happy.
I mean, really, we have plenty of space. As the dog gets bigger, I'm hoping she just realizes it wasn't a huge issue to be concerned about anyway. She green-lit a lab, which was close to 100lbs. Not a huge difference between that and a wolfhound / great dane.

My boxer Clubber was a big boy

<-------------------- Dogbrah

My little girl when she was 4-6 especially she would pretend to be a doggy playing with him, she'd bark, yell, pounce and pull him, he never was a brute. Very good family pet. ...He was the absolute best actually.......Great dane...may be overkill however hahahaha. Great danes are like horses ffs.

You're burying your head in the ground against all the potential consequences for your family and the dog just because you want this breed.

If she's happy to get a dog why not get one you both like?

Also have to wonder if what you consider plenty of space actually is, considering the menagerie in a apartment thing. That's rather irrelevant though I guess if you're willing to break up your family for a dog you don't even know yet lol

THIS. I mean i got pregnant we already had two dogs. 1 of the dog's was my Australian Shepard I had for 4 years before I got pregnant. The other was my BF's old hound dog. Anyways I had been paranoid because you hear those stories of the family dog mauling a baby all the time pop up in the news. I hope to god Linus John has cages for these dogs or puts them away when they aren't being watched like a hawk when around the baby. I had to get rid of my Australian Shepard who never actually bit the baby but would yap and bark meanly at my baby when she would cry. If i was in the living room playing with the baby the dogs were ALWAYS locked in another room.

Then the whole half wolf hound dog breed..I mean all of this sounds like BAD timing. And again I'm with you on what he considers a large amount of room, like what's the square footage like and you better have a back yard or else I got some bad news.

In the end I think it's fked up but we're not going to change your mind. I just wanted the update on if you went through with getting a wolfhound while she was at work and how it worked out since you thought it might result in your pregnant wife leaving you and you didn't really care lol.

So thanks for the update I guess
