Makes you wonder. I do believe there is a basic level of brutality most humans are capable of reaching.
There are also some levels that I think I could hit in a fuked up do-or-die or insane hate-filled wartime scenario (i.e. when the ruskies reaching Berlin and engaging in "payback"). I could easily see pulling some gruesome chit on someone who was trying to murder me in a hand to hand scenario, etc.
But this is just something beyond what I could imagine. I do wonder if there is some sort of deep, dark place in my psyche that could be triggered by the right combination of words from someone I thought I loved... But tbh I don't think most of us would be capable of anything like this even if pushed to the limit.

No idea what would trigger this ******* to scalp the mother of his child alive though and basically remove the right side of her face and have her live through it for another 8 hours. He was a rich kid that wrote comics, not a guy with PTSD that was a soldier in a war zone seeing women and children getting decapitated or something.
Edit: considering he basically carried this out exactly like the "graphic novel" he wrote, Id say he's just a sick fuk and this was premeditated. If he had a mental breakdown and it was some sort of crime of passion, he wouldnt have been so methodical and savage. Im guessing his lawyers defense will get destroyed in court
