This kind of thing falls in my line, so I can't help but be attracted to them. Anyway, I'm not going to re-type everything i just said. I have some fairly lengthy replies in another thread if you care to read them.

No it's not. Don't kid yourself. These protests have always been, and continue to be, police brutality against blacks. There is nothing provocative about black and white athletes championing against police brutality of all people. Because it it were, these people would see the numbers and see that the slogan should be All Lives Matter.

No, it's just a case of irony here, some halfwit using words that are out of his grasp but don't let me stop you from making yourself look like an idiot.
Yeah, these NFL players look really smart. They're just expressing themselves! How cute!

If you think police are out there indiscriminately killing black people and if you're so imbecilic to believe that and further to promote your stupidity you kneel during the national anthem? Holy chit that's a whole lot of stupid.

These athletes epitomize ignorance. They are completely unaware of facts surrounding law enforcement use of force or the cases when it occurs.

If they actually wanted to make a difference wouldn't they protest the killings that happen in Chicago with black on black crime? Or are facts too scary. It's super convenient after the last president created so much division and race conversation to now call any person who disagrees a racist. The word racist has lost it's true meaning because morons keep throwing it out there.

Also don't let this blow your mind, but why is kneeling for the anthem okay under the first amendment, but a bunch of toothless rednecks marching isn't? The left picks and chooses when freedom of speech applies (which it doesn't in the NFL) and then they go out of their way to silence those they don't like, ANTIFA/BLM.

I'll say this my point is who really gives a ****?

OK say you were offended because it set a bad example for the kids, are there any other instances of you being up in arms cause the NFL was setting a bad example for kids?

You gonna tell me this is the first time NFL was setting a bad example for kids?

I don't have a dog in the fight, I watched football Sunday and was happy as a clam, didn't think about players kneeling, probably changed the channel while the anthem was on anyways.

IDK I can't wrap my head around people giving so much of a ****, and all aided by people grossly misinterpreting what the constitution actually means, or if not finding some completely ancillary reason to pin the blame on like the children.

It's also very conscious. A perfect example of this is: unfollowing/unfriending someone on social media that has opposing political views so that the bulk of your exposure lines up with your own beliefs. Or refusing to watch CNN if you're Conservative. Fox, if you're Liberal.

I do because I was raised to believe that flag isn't just some piece of cloth, but something that stands for so much more. It is meant to be revered and is a strong symbol of our great nation.

I'd scrape my whole body with road rash before I'd let the US flag touch the ground if I was nearby.

The constitution has NOTHING to do with occupations. Why don't people realize that?

Those are both arguments that could just as easily be made.
1. The manner in which you do something is often times as important as the message. Soap boxing during a moment that is supposed to pay tribute to millions of people that have fought and died for this country is unbelievably disrespectful. There are a million other ways that these athletes could of chosen to voice their opinion... and yet they chose the flag and anthem. Why?

The only thing I've been able to rationalize is that this all stems from domestic anti Americanism. There is a growing segment of society that is ashamed to be American and would like nothing more than for it to be replaced by something else. The most extreme of this is what i see in the Antifa movement. They'd love to see it go down in flames and communism rise instead. The more moderate version is the Bernie crowd IMO. They don't want to build on what made this country great. They want to fundamentally change the country and the way it operates.

2. Don't disagree. Capitalism.

its a small problem, and they are making it seem like it is the biggest problem in the country right now. The fact is that roughly 26 blacks die per year from police, and roughly half of those are justified....compare that to how many black kids join gangs, dropout of school, dont have a father, ect ect....those issues are much bigger than police brutality yet they dont want to even acknowledge them. oh, and more whites die from cops than blacks, and around 130 cops died last year

At the end of the day if I was a police officer and it was my life vs some random thug's....i would make sure i go home and see my family after work...and thats that...how about if u dont wanna get killed by police, then dont resist..

No. These things are socially constructed. Trump is overreacting. With enough players "kneeling", it will soon become the norm. You can love your country and still stand OR kneel for the national anthem.

Horrible argument.

You're making the assumption that the police have a universal definition of "resistance", and that they are all honest. In theory, these should be true. In practice, they aren't.

You should be able to resist arrest and not lose your life in the blink of an eye.

So according to you participating in a ceremony is more respectful to the memory of soldiers than exercising the very rights that said soldiers allegedly died defending?

I do agree with the part Trump purposely orchestrated bringing this issue back up because his poll numbers were declining and he needed to shore up his conservative base....Trump's having trouble getting his health care bill passed so a good deflection tactic like a social issue does the trick....Straight out of the play book democrats have used for years. Liberals taught it and now Trump is perfecting it.

LOL so it's not necessarily about what the flag stands for that you feel necessarily should be respected, but the actual piece of cloth?

The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.

That's why grandma's apple pie rocks and yours sucks.

^^^Racist police officer who also cries about how racism doesn't exist, also cries reverse racism and typifies the stupidity of the racist right, referring to black people as "they" and regurgitating racist stereotypes.

If you weren't in the situation you can't comment.

To assume that race has any play in an officer's mind is absolutely ludicrous. But people, like Obama, who love making things a race issue will always do that. Then the feeble minded will buy into it and say, you know what, that must be right! The domino effect goes from there.

You're clueless. Go kneel outside and post a pic to your FB clown. I'm sure that will get your jollies off just swell.
