From Texas, brah. If I'm not instigating a fight and happen to get jumped or something, all I have to do is claim self defense. Plus, I don't put myself in social situations where I'd have to fight.

Gun Kata.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Seriously just get into boxing/muay-thai and get a few privates in BJJ to learn the closed guard/mount, the guillotine and the rear naked choke/taking the back.

You'll murder 95% of the adult male population. Add a few judo throws and you're invincible.
[img]http://clipdraw.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/shield_pocket_draw.jpg[img]
This is the best martial art.

I want to point out that there is no trigger cover in this picture and the person needs to buy a real holster before he shoots himself in the legs.

I can already imagine it now, a Krav trained woman trying to disarm a knife/gun wielding guy with her training. RIP sweet princess.

If I owned a cross fit gym I would incorporate some womens self defense class called cross fit self def gym training.

A lot of you are primed to get your ass kicked. 40 replies and no one has mentioned the actual best martial art for street fighting, smh. It's capoeira and it's not even close. Complete ownage.

Texas just repealed the switchblade ban, so I think this question is pretty easy to answer.

lol if you're not well versed in blow-job-won-do, bowing down on your knees, unzipping his pants and giving your opponent slow head while looking him in the eyes to de-escalate a potentially deadly situation. May have to do it more than once if he brought his boys with him.

works 100% every time. 110% if you play with the balls, 120% if you take the money shot and swallow.

This question highlights how absurd the entire premise of a "fair" and/or "legal" street fight is.

There are only two types of fights: Athletic competitions, or combat.
The former has rules, takes place in a sanctioned venue, and has as its primary objective WINNING.
The latter has no rules. Period, full stop. And it has only one objective: SURVIVING.

If you are worried about the legal implications of blinding, crippling, or otherwise catastrophically/permanently injuring your opponent in a street fight, you're doing it wrong.

Krav Maga easily. But train boxing some too, mainly so you learn how to see and take punches.

Boxing is the best because it has a low learning curve and it's best to keep distance and on your feet in a street fight

Judo is a good compliment but it's 100x harder to learn and has a huge learning curve to be useful at all. But if you can tie up with someone (especially if they're wearing a jacket) it's all over. Instantly.

Not exaggerating, 100% srs. Getting slammed onto your back/head on concrete the only thing I'd be worried about is accidentally killing the other guy.

Some kunt that does krav maga will come here and defend it and then a normal person will tell them they're delusional and they will bitch a bit cause they're mad they've been paying lots of money for useless lessons

"best" is relative, if it's not common sense, sprinting or gun-fu then training in any kind of full-contact combat sport will give someone a big advantage over an average drunk guy. I'd guess boxing is a good start simply because it's proven to be inarguably effective, then probably some kind of grappling.
