Not counting Splatfest, I haven't played regular battles in quite some time. I kind of need to get back into that. Usually when I get on (at night), it's only to play Salmon Run.

Switch is hardly the best console. I recently bought one and I enjoy it but there is a definitely a lack in quantity and variety of games. I bought it on impulse just for Golf Story (srs lol), also got Zelda, it's good but definitely a tad overrated imo. PC gaming is still probably best in general, but in a perfect world where I wasn't broke I'd just own every console and not care about what's "best."

If Nintendo is so good why will it come in last place again? Wiiu sold like ass and the switch will sell like ass. Of course numbers aren't everything which Cod proves as sht, but in this case it does.

And lol at naming casual Gameboy advance/color/ds apart of outselling Sony. PlayStation 1 is much better than those handhelds all day.

Rather just play the same games on PC. Sometimes might play a game on my brother's Xbox. Wouldn't call myself a gamer anymore, games are just something to do when you're bored or trying to kill time.

I don't own any of the newer consoles, but the Switch is the only one that can possibly appeal to me since it offers something different--portability and exclusive Nintendo games.

I don't see the point of a PS4 or Xbox One when they're literally just poverty PCs with less than 10% of the functionality.

Had the wii u barely touched it. got smash and mario kart for it but ps4 took over. When the switch came out i wasn't to inclined to get it. But cool little indie games like golf story and stardew valley just got released. so i pulled the trigger and bought a switch a couple days ago. to be honest i'm impress. its compact and portable kind of like a game gear. the system and interface is pretty solid. brb playing games at work and on the toilet. hoping theres a hack to put emulators on it and play that on the go!

I didn't even finish Horizon because I found it pretty lifeless and I sold my PS4, my only regret was not finishing Yakuza.

I remember Game Gear, I had a game boy at the time, and remember being so impressed that game gear had a color screen, the only problem with it was it took like 8 batteries LMAO all AA too. LMAO.

Never thought it was too big, but damn it it ate batteries hard. Definitely before it's time, in hindsight Nintendo was smart releasing the first gen game boy in grey and white, who knows what it would have looked like or performed like if they forced color tech at that time.

Then I was hyped for the first game boy color and come to find out it wasn't backlit, I was so mad at that but still got one anyway lol.

Switch is legit, I also was skeptical at first but read too many good reviews and saw their lineup of games on the horizon and couldn't resist.


All they need is a MISC app to make my life complete.

I have no interest in Mario, Donkey Kong, etc. I just don't. How do you play those over Red Dead Redemption 2? I don't mean to be a douche in anyway, but you gotta be a neckbeard to sit and rave about Pokemon and Mario Kart all day. I'm trying to understand, but I can't comprehend

Noone says you can only own 1 console. If you already have a Xbone then buy games for Xbone. I have a soft spot for nintendos 1st party games because of nostalgia I guess, and you can't go wrong with their 1st party games as they're almost always gems and fun to play (Smash Bros and Zelda come to mind). But when it comes to Generic Grey-and-Brown-color-palate-War/Space-Marine-FPS-#75 or "Movie games" where 80% of the content is quick-time-events, those games can be hit or miss. I mean, they look pretty, and the stories are compelling and interesting but most of those "games" would have been better off made into movies instead. Most games I want to play on the PS4 and Xbone are also available on PC so thats where I get my FPS and QTE "Movie Game" fix. I guess i'm missing the boat on Red Dead Redemption, but I can't justify buying a console for one game.

and for those of you saying the switches controllers are too small, use the controller dock that came with the console or just buy the Switch Pro Controller. It looks and feels identical to the Xbox controller, and is a necessity for more serious games that require precision. If you're just farting around with indie stuff or party games then you can stick with the joycons.

I loved Red Dead Redemption but if i'm going to play xbox or PS4 I'll be reaching for BF1, Hard Line, maybe CODWWII. Loved ALIEN Isolation.

Games like Assassin's Creed, wore on me quick. Once I realized dude was running around in his dreams, I was like zzzzz. Halo 2 was big for me, tried to get into 5, meh.

Lettuce be real, sony and microsoft are really consoles to play FPS's and sports genres, the rest of the titles are hit or miss.

Nintendo has global icon type IP's: Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Metroid, Mega Man, and lettuce be real, Claire from RE might as well be Nintendo IP as well.

That Pro Controller is savage, I haven't bought one yet, kinda hoping they drop the price...I also haven't played on the dock yet lolol, and I don't have anyone at my place to play with, so haven't justified a second controller yet but we'll see. My next major purchase is Odessey later this month.

But when it comes to Generic Grey-and-Brown-color-palate-War/Space-Marine-FPS-#75 or "Movie games" where 80% of the content is quick-time-events, those games can be hit or miss. I mean, they look pretty, and the stories are compelling and interesting but most of those "games" would have been better off made into movies instead. Most games I want to play on the PS4 and Xbone are also available on PC so thats where I get my FPS and QTE "Movie Game" fix. I guess i'm missing the boat on Red Dead Redemption, but I can't justify buying a console for one game.

and for those of you saying the switches controllers are too small, use the controller dock that came with the console or just buy the Switch Pro Controller. It looks and feels identical to the Xbox controller, and is a necessity for more serious games that require precision. If you're just farting around with indie stuff or party games then you can stick with the joycons.

Cod(LOL), BF1, Destiny,.......Sure, but you speak as if there's no deviation, no alternate choices. You don't have to buy those FPS because a good console has a great deal of variety. Something Nintendo is just now getting. It's funny how people talk down to a 4 year old console bragging about sales, where were you all during the Wii U episode? Oh thats right it flopped hard and Nintendo had to hurry and create another console. People say "Oh they didn't advertise."......Uh if Nintendo is GOAT they wouldn't have needed to advertise. Some companies sell on name alone. They couldn't even think of a name to deviate it from the Wii. I mean people are celebrating because GTA 5 is coming to switch.....the same GTA that released in 2013. That's not a good company, but an incompetent one. Hell, if Nintendo was so good the fan base wouldn't be asking for 3rd parties games. Why are you getting excited for GTA that was released in 2013? Just admit it, Nintendo fuked up and is just now catching. They went from the Wii(People were tricked) which sold 100+ millions, to the Wii U flopped numbers. Hell Sony's Ps3 didn't even do that bad after the price catastrophe and releasing a year late.

All of those are highly rated. And i didn't even mention the free games we get, not to mention how Sony is VERY fond of Indy Devs and allows a lot more freedom than other companies. That doesn't seem like your typical run of the mill shooter list to me. I understand liking Mario and Metroid, I'm a big fan of those, but be real sometimes you want something different. That said,

I'm glad Nintendo is back on track and it's about damn time. They still got catching up to do, but they'll make it.

How is porting critically acclaimed masterpiece games "incompetence"?

It's a home console that can be taken anywhere. Go look around game threads, you will see tons of people who played and beat stuff like Skyrim, GTA, Doom, who are repurchasing because they can play on the go. That's a bigger deal than you make it out to be. And it is adding variety. The console isn't even a year out yet, developers will continue to release newer products on the console.

Just lol @ trying to stack Witcher and Red Dead redemption, or Fallout against Metroid, Mario, and Zelda. LMFAO. Sony's IP's are weak compared to Nintendo.
