Since purchasing my Switch, my PS4 has seen less play time. This is largely due to the portability of my Switch. Kids fall asleep in the car while out and about, no big deal. I wait in the car playing on my Switch while others go in and shop. Had to go to the DMV last month; time flew as I played Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

I gotta admit, my PS4 seeing less play time is also due in part to no current multiplayer game (on the PS4) holding my interest. That will of course change next month when Battlefront II come out. I know I'm going to be playing that a lot. And for the record, I'm not saying there aren't any good mp games on the PS4, just that I've gotten burned out on them (Killing floor 2), bored of them (Battlefield 1), or just wasn't interested in them (Destiny).

Lol, I see you are back to pulling chit out of your butt. The Wii isn't Nintendo's only successful home console. Both the NES and SNES soldVERYwell. After that, the numbers for the Nintendo 64 and GameCube while not as impressive are not considered failures, especially the 64.

I haven't even used the dock yet, it's still in the box, bought the Switch 3 weeks ago LMAO.

I mostly use mine in handheld mode. I only started using the dock for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe then for Splatoon. I'll still play MK8D in handheld or Table Top mode but not Splatoon. I can only play Splatoon with the Pro Controller.

Yes, they do! Stop being so single minded.

Playing video games is playing video games regardless of what it's played on. Heck, even those stupid cell phone games are (indirect) competition. In Japan, handheld consoles are a lot more popular than home consoles. That means that when choosing a gaming console, people in Japan commonly chose the DS and now the Switch over home consoles.

In essence, when consumers choose a preferred gaming method; whether it's PC gaming, home console gaming, handheld console gaming, or even cell phone/tablet gaming, each one competed against the others for the consumers money.
