Nope, I was happy enough to hit 2 plates. Doubt I'll ever hit 3, unless I get on my bike

My best friend used to make me feel weak, but I realized that his genetics are just better than mine when it comes to strength and felt better. Still stronger than the other averagecels in my gym.

Why not both? (Not going above 150, and I probably won't even make it to that tbh)

chit, i remember when i started lifting i thought 2 plate bench would be impressive as hell......

little did i know....

ofc, this being the misc, most brahs probably benched 220 first time they ever lay down on the bench, and were repping 300 within 6 months.

Can bench 315 with a close grip and a pause. Barely anyone at my gym can bench 2 plates let alone 3.

Yeah, I don't want to go over 22% bodyfat or so though, which is why I think that won't happen, especially with my genetics (can't put on muscle easily).

Fukkin lol.

They had one and then just took it out completely? Surely, there's another gym nearby?

I remember when my gym took the one rack out for over a month to spray paint it silver to "match" the newer machines and equipment... I was genuinely disgusted and stunned.

I can pay $10 a month or I can pay $50 a month... and I'm a cheap ass.

But yeah... out of the blue there was some guy in there pulling off a pair of pegs from the leg press and dismantling the bench press. They even took the miscellaneous plate loaded bars so no more OH press either. Was a dark day.

There are periods when I think and journey back to how I used to be when I first joined a gym. When all of this **** was new and fresh. Its a nice feeling actually, esp when you mature over the years and have to give advice to someone who is starting out and was once in your position.

Benching 315 is great and all, but nothing beats hitting 2 plates for the first time. For some reason I reflect on that with more value.

Surely all the world-class athletes in the US compete in weight lifting and not more popular sports like football. Surely.
