On topic: great post:rep ratios are normally a sign of both (i) being fairly witty/quality poster; and (ii) being fairly attractive. And for plenty of people on this forum (one focused on bodies), it makes sense to throw reps around to people with nice physiques.

Tl;dr - attractive people (body and/or personality/wit) are liked more than unattractive people (bitter/FA/etc). But this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

I go out of my way to try to be helpful, particularly in the relationship sub-forum (where I combat the 'forever alone' mindset, and try to empower anyone feeling lonely/isolated into realizing that this is simply their personal mindset, and not a reflection of the reality around them). I also try to answer threads in other sub-forums, like the O35 one (I once received a great +rep there for posting a video about foam rolling/lacrosse ball use), and I have been mod repped once with the comment "logic" [I believe by KyleAaron - spelling) in a thread where I was combating a form of 'red piller' that specifically argues that any man who gets married is setting himself up for a massive loss in life. I posted in great detail why this is a mistake, citing resources to back my perspective.

In short, the vast majority of my posts tend towards being helpful, and if I'm expressing an opinion I back it up. In all honesty, I think that my 'rep' is not high (in absolute terms) and although it looks high in terms of post:rep ratio the fact of the matter is a quick look at my post history shows a general trend of posts that border on the very detailed. This means that the vast majority of my posts are completely ignored by many posters on this forum, in particular those posting for the "lulz", or who band together to bash people publicly and support one another doing so.
Hope this helps you see where I'm coming from. A non-avi detailed poster has a longer rep road to climb than a provocative avi + lulz + bandwagon poster. Even longer when compared to those who beg for reps. And I only ventured into this thread once I saw the comment about what the Misc has become, thinking perhaps that poster sympathized with my perception. There are still quality posts here but many threads simply have people talking past each other (look at the "Best Country for Food in the World" threads where people just post their list, often without justification, and pay no real attention to what other people are posting).
