Asks 'how do I remove a window unit?'
Myself and others take the time to post replies
No reply, no thanks
A day later comes back to tell us he meant 'an air conditioning unit' IN the window
I query his sanity, not to mention his manners, in that he could easily have admitted his question could have been a LOT clearer and he certainly could have thanked the people that tried to help him
He negs me. Srs. What an absolute b!tch move. He got a ton of nominations for 'most mentally ill miscer', at the time I hadn't heard of him. Sadly I now have. *******.

To be fair what sort of horrible houses have air con units in the windows, absolute poverty.
In my experience American houses have the worst build quality (aluuuuuuminum siding, screen doors, wood frames lmao) in the world, it's like you all secretly want to live in a trailer.

That's funny OP cause I used to be a site manager for a joinery company.
Not a hard job, but can get messy with the plasterboard. Score round it neatly assuming you are replacing the window, will make finishing it easier. The window could be attached in a lot of different ways. If it's strapped in those straps could go back about 9 inches, so that's how much plasterboard you'll have to cut, top and bottom as well.
It might be screwed straight through the frame if it's not a timber frame house. Need a decent drill.
Even a small window can way a sh!t ton. You don't really want to start removing glass or the leaf, it's an ar$e to get them back straight.
Once it's not attached it will have a mind of its own, could easily drop outside, window trashed, kill a passerby. You'd normally fit/remove from the inside. If you've never done it before I'd have another pair of hands ready to grab it. Be very careful when you put it on the floor if there is a cill attached, you will snap it off if you put it down at an angle. For storing/moving it around, turn the window round completely and keep the cill on top.

Maybe just chalk it up to a US/UK misunderstanding?
