It sucks man. I refuse to shell out 2000 for a pre 1994 firearm when others can get a decent AR for $800. I hate this state with a passion. Just look at who my senators are. I can write and call them all day, but I'd have a better chance of getting a heroin addict to invest in the stock market than I would have these shytbags remotely consider my opinion on firearms

Nice Ayy Are brah. I bought my first back just before the election, I got a pretty good deal on my M&P AR15 Sport. Solid rifle, I was able to site in at 300 yards with a Vortex spitfire red dot and pew pew on a steel target with Wolf 55gr HP. I've yet to build a custom one though

Ike, what would I need as a leftie to not have gases expel directly at my mouth? Would I need to look at piston ARs or would a leftie upper with a bunch of ambi controls do the job?

The gas systems are the only thing I don't like about ARs (while being leftie), I feel like I need to brush my teeth after 2 mags.

A piston gun will reduce the amount of gas exiting the ejection port but as far as "eliminating" it you're going to want a lefty upper. It would probably be cheaper to buy a face mask.

The most precise bolt guns are more precise than the most precise semi-autos, and you're not as limited in terms of the cartridge you can use. A 300 win mag AR is a solid $5000, a bolt gun in that chambering can be had for much, much less. You're probably not going to defend your house with one, but there are lots of great applications for a quality bolt gun, and many shooters in the Firearms Crew are bolt shooters.

Actually does somebody want to help me?

First of all, I'm in socialist / communist California where these left wing retards literally don't understand the philosophy of individual liberty vs. collectivism & marxism, bunch of useful idiots.

With that said, I have 1 simple gun - Springfield XD9 that I've had for a few years, and I'm wanting to add a rifle to my collection, would love an AR15 (my friend who is a cop in CA was telling me to get a Ruger Mini-14....is that good vs. AR?)

Anyway if somebody wants to help me out and recommend something for a Red-Blooded Trump-Loving American who loves this country and the FOUNDING PRINCIPALS of individual liberty I would really appreciate it.

I have more money than time, so cost isn't a HUGE concern, I've never owned or shot a rifle before, handguns only, so keep that in mind.

Thanks Misc (srs)

You can't get an actual AR type rifle in CA, a Mini-14 may be a good way to go. No flash suppressor or flash hider (muzzle break or nothing is okay), only 10 round mags

Mini 14s are pretty terrible. A featureless AR15 might be a better idea. Alternatively, a Springfield Armory M1A in .308 might work for you, since those can be California compliant.

You're pretty hosed though.

This.

I've never shot a mini that impressed me. On top of poor accuracy you have to deal with expensive mags.

Bold = No

Black Friday usually has good deals on accessories, especially Geissele Triggers, as well as lots of deals on Handguns and Optics. You're probably not going to see an improvement on a complete rifle compared to the OP. As a couple people have pointed out ITT, this is an absurdly well-priced gun. If there are any crazy black friday deals on complete guns, they'll probably be lower-tier rifles that companies are trying to get rid of.

I would not anticipate a better deal on a complete rifle of this quality for black friday.

I would anticipate the potential to get some good deals on accessories or upgrades on black friday, for this rifle, should you get this rifle now. Optics, triggers, slings, sights, muzzle devices, fancy charging handles, rail attachments, lights, etc.

If you are in the market or interested I would get the rifle, a dozen good magazines (Magpul PMAG, or USGI type by NHMTG or OKay Surefeed, Lancer L5 AWM, etc), and at least a case (1k rounds) of ammo now.

Mini 14 owner here as I am in communist CT. We share the same problems man. It's a solid little rifle, reliable, rugged, but not as accurate and aftermarket friendly as an AR15. Never had any trouble with it, and put about 1000 rounds down the tube... some being Russian steel cased ammo. You can do a "featureless" AR I'm pretty sure. Look into it!

Edit: If you do look at a Mini, get one with a serial number starting with "580", as those have the better barrel. It's thicker, and less prone to barrel whip than its predecessors. Try and get a used one too, as they retail new for around $800. You can get a decent AR for that in a normal state that respects your rights. You can probably get a nice used one for $400-500
