Well red dots are out for me, the astigmatism fuks them up. I really like the ACSS reticle on PAs 1-6. Thoughts on that?

It's gotten great reviews, and I have one on order for the wife's new SPR. If you're looking at it as a defensive gun, you might want something with always on illumination like an Accupoint. For daylight shooting the PA will probably do everything you want.

How bad does the dot look? I had astigmatism making my dot look like a pile of spaghetti or comet with a tail, whatever, but that doesn't matter for closer/defensive/practical type shooting, and for more carefully aimed stuff the dot cleared up greatly if I co-witnessed through the small rear aperture of my backup iron sights. There's science/physics behind why the dot looks better through the aperture with astigmatism. If you haven't tried that yet I would

It just looks like Michael J Fox drew a laser circle. It's not terrible. Tbh I'm sure I could shoot reasonably well with it, but it bothered the fuk out of me. I already sold it.

The AR15 action is from the 1950's so IDK WTF you think you're talking about.

Yeah I would. I don't see how anyone that knows anything about guns would say that's not old school. It's the from the damn Korean War and the garand action was in world war 2 if that's not old school I have no idea what is.

An M1A is M14 pattern, and was used in Vietnam, never in Korea. It was designed in 1954, and fielded from 1958-1967. It was designed almost concurrently with the M16, which replaced it as the standard US servicerifle.
