Good weekend. Moved some more boxes around. I have a little more room in my garage now. Built and installed a mailbox post. Working on finishing touches. Changed out the electronic throttle body on my Escape. Working great so far. I love it. I just went down to Auto zone to get the part then swung over to Harbor Freight to pick up a torque wrench. No ordering online and waiting weeks to arrive. Also staked out the perimeter of the fence I'm putting in. Love America.

Spending this week at a conference in Destin at a hotel on the beach.

Thats the next home for this is the body detail guy, hes going to smooth and shape it a bit so the lines match better and it looks a little less Frankenstein.

Not my cup of tea but its a cool effort.

These hotrod guys like a certain tone to their vroom vroom. Another part is cost, he wanted to keep the build under $60k.

Aiming for a 5-600hp LS, fuel injected with a big fat torque curve and an allison automatic, fine for towing a 2 car hauler.

Speaking of trucks....we need a work truck for limited use....probably looking to spend 5-8 grand or so. so that looks like an 06-08 Tundra, Ram, F150, etc....any of you truck people know any particular model or engine to avoid? I put 100,000 miles on an 05 F150 work truck that was a solid truck. crew cab as big as an SUV more or less. something like that.

I've heard the Triton 5.4 has issues that span multiple years. The 07-08 GM 5.3L with AFM can be a nightmare. A lot of problems are year specific so if you find a truck you're interested in just google it.

Also not sure if srs about finding an 06-08 Tundra for 8 grand...

My buddy has a triton.

No major issues in 6 years. But a lot of gremlin problems.

Dad has a...99 or so F150 with a triton 5.4 in it. Had no real issues to speak of.

It's pretty much all I use. At my weight/tolerance I basically use half a scoop and it's just fine for me. So if I get a B2G1 deal like I did a month or so ago...im set for about 6 months.

Try a double scoop of it.

Nah don’t. I only do doubles going into deadlifts at a meet.

That's a high mileage, USA's horrible quality control years. So I'd go with the Tundra but for 6-8K that Tundra is going to have 250k+ miles.

What are you using it for? Towing lbs and or payload lbs?

No towing, just need a 4-wheel drive vehicle on construction sites or into the woods for wife's business. probably driven 2 days a week.

I had an 06 with the 5.4 Triton. 2004-2008 they had cam phaser issues, and a lot of them are running around on factory 2-piece plugs because people are too scared to change them. If you can confirm both problems are fixed then you are good, a truck with both problems will be a literal ticking time bomb. Broken phasers knock like crazy and broken plug removal on these is thousands.

I think 09 and later they got it figured out, the 2011+ 5.0 is bulletproof but you are moving past 5-8k.

That's what I was trying to remember about the Triton. That god damn spark plug fiasco. They had a tendency to blow plugs completely out of the head as well. My buddy had an 04 or 05 and the 4x4 never worked right on it even after being in the shop 3 or 4 times. He ended up just selling it off.
