Like most things, it depends on your budget. I think you can getreallygood stuff for less than $45.

Some of my favorites:
Angel's Envy
1792 Single Barrel
Henry McKenna Single Barrel
Larceny ($28'ish)

There are a bunch of really good reviewer sites, plug in a couple of those and see if the reviews sound like something you'd enjoy.

been on a real bourbon kick the last few months and trying lots of brands. had Old Forrester for the first time on Tuesday and really enjoyed it. always order over ice and that's it

Eagle rare 10 is my go to (want to try 17).

A colleague of mine has the most amazing bourbon collection ever. He travels the US with his wife searching for stuff. I bet 20 grand (and for bourbon that’s everything).

Edit: neat if trying a new whiskey, a little water if around the fire for a night, ice if cheap stuff at home. I don’t like high rye (spicy) stuff. Not a fan of wheat bourbons either (makers, pappy etc.)

My staples: Knob Creek, Four Roses.

Not exactly a bourbon snob so wouldn't turn down Makers or Bulleit either though.

After I'm done cutting I might start trying some recipes. Now I just take everything neat mostly because of the calories.

YAS. I did a blind tasting last week with no idea what I was tasting, we got to grade them and found out after what each one was..... Eagle Rare 10 was my highest scored of the 6. Great stuff, impossible to find around here in Central Ohio.

I rarely bring a bottle home for that reason. It's usually only a dollar or two more per glass at a restaurant, so I'll do that instead.

common here in my small Canadian town’s stores, crazy it’s harder to find in the US.

I e had a hard time finding blantons here, and I’m more of an Irish whiskey guy and really struggle to find some good stuff

I love whiskey in general but you can't beat a good bourbon. Buffalo Trace is my favorite all around distillery - we keep their bottom shelf (Benchmark No. 8) for mixing with coke etc, Buffalo Trace to drink neat, and I like their high end stuff when it's time for something special.

Lots of good bourbons under $30. At around the $70 price point though I'd rather just buy single malts. I prefer products with an age statement as they tend to seem more consistent but that's harder to come by these days. Also BT distillery products are a bit over rated and their pricing scheme is stupid. ER10 is $25 but standard BT is $30.

Store shelves are always stocked with ER. I think the wine bottle design really turns people off. BT is more likely to discontinue it or throw it into the BTAC line. I've tried convincing people to buy it but they simply look at the bottle and just put it back on the shelf.

There's a few bourbons like ER10 and HMcK10 for $25 that people just pass over for chit products like JD or Makers even though they want a better drinking experience.

Had some Old Forge Distillery Bourbon a few months back, very hot but I'd buy another bottle of it.

Gonna order some Koval soon.

Did the Bourbon trail with the wife like 3 years back, alot of fun if anyone can make it work.

Bourbon is my favorite type of liquor, however, I don't drink much liquor these days.
I usually drink neat or on the rocks; For mixed drinks, I like Old Fashioned and whiskey sours.
If I'm drinking a bottom shelf bourbon, I'll mix with coke or ginger ale.
Next year I'm going to get into rye whiskey.
