My gramps used to cook venison with bacon to take the edge off the gamey flavor.

If not with bacon to help mask it, then making it in chili and adding lots of spices and filler. (meh)

If not chili... then jerky marinated in spices and worcestershire. (my personal favorite).

I'm not a huge fan of just a grilled chunk of venison. I do like it as jerky though.
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

Soaking venison in salt water for 24 hrs right after cleaning it will help remove the gaminess as well.

That's what my wife's family does for most of their own deer. They then grind their own venison burger up or make jerky out of it.

My family generally cleans it and sends it to get processed in summer sausage or slim jims.... HNNGNGGGGG

place I used last year did slim jim like things - may have to get a whole deer done that way this year - the kids ate them all

I've soaked it in buttermilk before, I've never brined deer but not a bad idea

I only shoot does if I'm meat hunting so there's a little less game taste - plus they eat a chit load of acorns which helps

I tried their Glock triggers out. Wasn't too swayed to replace that over the standard Glock trigger TBH.

Made in Texas and this weekend the place near me is having 15% off (minus firearms) woop
I have that exact trigger, got it from Relent. Great trigger. Chip McCormick doesn't make junk.

I had to help butcher pigs and pluck chickens all the time on my grandma's farm in Louisville back in the day. Only had to deal with the occasional cow. And they only had a band saw and some big knives and hacksaws, no fancy processing equipment.

Of all the farm crap they made me do, shucking corn was my least favorite.

I've tried deer chili and other things to mask the taste but I just can't get into the taste of deer. We threw a fresh deer leg on the grill last time we had a big cookout and I ate it right off the bone, seasoned and cooked it like a lamb roast, still didn't love it.

How the hell do people last in sales management roles for a decade and not know the simplest of Excel functions???? I've spent like 2 hours with this guy today just trying to explain the most basic crap. And I'm not even all that great with it, but I'm shocked that someone in business doesn't know a thing.

It would explain the blank look I received after venting how our $10k HVAC monitoring unit couldn't be accessed because our IT department were blaming vendor supplied credentials and the vendor was blaming client side java authorization.

Any meat will taste gamey if you hit it bad, wait overnight for it to die, slap it on the hood of your truck and half-cook it on the drive home. For a lot of people, that describes their encounter with venison.

Most of my issue with venison is getting the cook right on such a lean meat. Tenderloin and backstrap grills well but regular steaks? Slow cooker for me.

Here in AZ you'll see a dude with his elk on the trailer with the clothes still on baking in 90-105 degree Phoenix temps after coming down from the high country. Then they say it tastes bad cuz it's a "tough old bull" or something

Lady in our accounting office kept saying COGS in sentences where it didn't make sense. I politely asked, "remind me what cogs is compiled of..." She literally said, "you know, it's the cogs..."

Day 1 of Dynamic Performance Pistol at the Sig Academy...and it ****ing poured at least half the day. I decided to see how the red dot held up in the rain considering that it just fills with water in a holster. Not bad overall. First shot clears it pretty well.
