Yeah it's not much. If we go practice on the weekends they range guys usually hook us up with some more too but I don't always have that time, especially now that footballs on.

I have no idea what they're considering yet. I'm assuming they're pretty open to almost anything at this moment. I believe they're aiming for 2019-2020. In the questionnaire they also ask if we're interested in choosing our own.
That's cool, more is obviously better, but any little bit helps. I'd definitely opt for choosing my own if allowed. More than likely they'd pick something that's just fine, but you never know. Would be nice to have something you're already comfortable with and can shoot well regardless.

Finally going to be able to break in my Shield 9 when I get home soon. Got it right before deployment for the wife to have something at home for defense, but never got to take it to the range. Family is coming down for a few days, and we're going to put a couple hundred rounds through it, plus probably rent some rifles (SCAR, AUG) and have a little fun.

Wakaa you do realize that IL CCL has preemption over Chicago pistol magazine ban don't you. You can have any capacity mags you want in a pistol by law if you have CCL. If FOID only the city ordinance would apply.

Glasses wearer here, contacts on rare occasion. I just wear my regular everyday glasses to the range in lieu of safety glasses. I have NEVER had mine crack or break due to hot case, or a hot case flying under my glasses.

ETA: or get perscription sunglasses

Yea I saw that online too. Did a live chat and they said hey were in stock and would ship next day, should have went with gut instinct =too good to be true, it probably is. I'll give them until noon to respond to my terse e-mail then decline payment on CC.

I'll be dammed never mind. Got my tracking number for the Xbowscolor me surprised. So if any of you guys are still interested mine are apparently on the way.

Gonna be a stout CC bill. Ordered a vortex 3-12x56 low light scope last night. Gonna have to pepper my angus for that CC statement.

Sites won't allow you to order regardless of if you have CCL or not. If there's a restriction and they make it a crime to even possess in these counties, sure I'd love to be able to carry it, but if I'm not carrying it, it's a crime to have them???

Did active shooter/hostage/ training with the city police quick response team (basically SWAT team) yesterday.

Was fricken awesommmmmmmmmmmmmmme. I got to play a criminal and a hostage who got shot. We fired 38spacial blanks at them, they fired sim rounds like paintballs from converted AR15s at us. It was intense. They roughed me up a little.

It was in an abandoned building in the ghetto, looks like a Chernobyl building.

I didn't take pics but they were tac'd up like Army Special Forces...used a drone a robot too.

I haven’t had a hard time ordering online so far but if it gets bad then yeah I’ll be forced to find shops that aren’t infested by cook county tax of peace and prosperity. Well yet to see if they are shipping the crossbows or 24.5lbs of something else. They shipped from PA, and the website is in NY so coming from a distributor. Crazy cheap for what it is, if you are planning to get one I would jump on it. You will be impressed. Do some research on them on Excalibur forums or Archerytalk.

Don't know any outdoor ranges by me, I think there is one south of the city that'd probably be a closer drive for you. Cant remember the name of it though. Marengo guns prices are really solid, it is where I bought my XDS, my AR accessories, and some locally made ammo for pretty solid prices. They have some deals every now and then that are really good (sign up for their newsletter). It is about a 35-45 minute drive for me and worth it. They also only charge $10 FFL transfers and no cook county taxes.

I’ll subscribe there now, it’s not worth driving there for 10 dollar transfers unless they’ll do multiple for one charge of 10. The FFL I deal with is too convenient. Meets a few minutes away, do some paperwork, give him 15, and I’m home with minutes.
