LOVED the first season.

Watched the first episode of season 2 and it was absolute dogchit. I feel like im watching a completely different show, and i dont like it.

The cinematography is chit tier compared to the first season, and the scenes are so phucking jumpy/fast paced. da phuck have they done to this show

- All characters have different personalities now

- Too much unnecessary swearing from the kids which wasn't present in season 1

- All characters became annoying and cringy AF, + trying too hard to be funny

- Way too much 80s references of the most pop things ever

Just my elite opinion of course.

tbh I think people gave the first season too much credit anyways. Good show but Millie Bobby Brown carries it imo. Winona is bordering on overacting, some of the other actors are weak, and the kids are obnoxious as hell when they're all on screen bickering at eachother.

I was more fascinated with the grotesque/otherworldly enemies in the show which reminded me of Lovecraft, and the 80s references.

The creature in s2 ep1 reminded me of something from The Mist. Not sure about this show, think i'll be putting up with plot fillers just to get fleeting glimpses of the cool creatures

Glad I'm not the only one that thought the show moved faster, but you guys are kidding if you expect the characters to remain the exact same, they're all traumatized by what happened previously. They go over this in the rest of the season.

The show always had a strong 80s vibe to it, seeing as how the setting is set in the 80s. That's actually a interesting part about the show since it began, how they use a lot of synths and 80s tracks for the soundtrack, and refrain from using anything modern.

Me personally, only character I thought was flat out annoying was Eleven. I know she isn't socially well adjusted and properly educated, but they need to drop the retard act. Her still not having a strong vocabulary is understandable, but a year and some months has passed and her still struggling to muster out words is ridiculous. Her character arc was also pretty boring.

As far as the other characters, everyone seems too intelligent. In season 1, things worked in hunches, or gathering of minds, in this season, everyone knows how to build forts and make calculated strategies and chit, and the kids have near college level vocabulary and problem solving, clearly an exaggeration of their intelligence.

The romance, death, and relief scenes were mostly forced and predictable this time around too, and not nearly as realistic.

I did like the addition of some of the characters however, the new "Chad" was pretty lulzy.

About 5 episodes in so far with the gf. So far its pretty good, not as good as teh first obviously, but the kids seem funnier this time around which is good.
