Why are people in tech all lefties?

Everyone working for google, twitter etc are all engineers, computer scientists etc and they are all lefties. They were doing Calculus every Saturday night while Chad and Jamal partied and get sloots for 6 years. Now they're working a stressful job for Chad who was a Business major and is their new boss
brb trying to find an internship so you can be a slave for the summer while your average art major goes to France
brb having higher taxes so all your nights of studying are now used for Stacy to abort Jamal's baby
brb having some wife that only married you for money stability etc. and "doesn't like" giving bjs(spoiler:she like giving bjs, she just doesn't like giving you bjs)
Srs want to change my major because of this. How can any man work hard and study for 4-5 years and not seek the full rewards of his hard work? How can someone be content with working for 40 years for someone that's clearly not as smart as them and had more fun in 1 year of college than the tech dude did in his entire life? Is there anything that happens to them once they start working that turns them into full blown weaklings>

All the tech companies are in big cities and big cities attract mostly young liberal minded people. It's not rocket science to figure this out.

A couple things:

1. Lol at thinking Software Engineering is a stressful job. I literally do whatever TF I want all day and build programs. My work is basically solving puzzles.
2. By 'lefties' do you mean left handed or liberals? either way I'm both so I back up your data set.
3. I chose comp sci and programming because I want to build projects on the side. I'm actually working on an app right between typing this out.
4. If you don't want to pay a lot of taxes you have several options. some illegal, some as simple as be poor AF for the rest of your life.
5. working does turn you into a weakling but it's up to you to keep your head up and find your next milestone.

This pretty much. Most large successful cities in America lean democratic/liberal. Even in strong red states like Missouri, St. Louis and Kansas City heavily lean left. Austin in Texas, etc.

Then you have the rest of the republicans and rural trash leeching.

Because tech guys are mostly geeks & betas?

Anime, video games, game of Thrones... just lol at all that. Sports & action/crime movies is all I watch. Also go clubbing alot. Dont see many tech geniuses macking sloots in the clubs.

I think engineerings seems like a great career. Seriously considered going that route but dont want to work with geeky video game, anime watching GEEKS

But who is the 1980s - 2000s?

It seems to be a recent development that everyone in technology is a bleeding heart liberal now. Most of the internet seemed pretty Libertarian, arguably even right wing, up until a few years ago. It's call mainstreaming and most millennials tend to be far-left. The millennials are the sort who would vote for Pol Pot and Joseph Stalin if they were alive today.

Ahh yes, they are more intelligent! That must be why their platform is increasing handouts and making more people dependent on the government for everything! Genius! No one can starve if the government feeds everyone right?!?

The more intelligent argument is based on the number of college graduates being lefties. People who say this basically say that gender studies degrees make someone more intelligent than a mechanic of a plumber.

This. Last year almost everyone in my 400lvl accounting and finance courses were gigantic Trump fans aside from one sorority sloot that was dumb as chit (I got stuck with her on one group project) who just regurgitated stupid phrases like "the future is female" and "its time for a female president". Most professors even made some subtle comments that made fun of the left.

In another class, more than half of the groups had a Trump themed name for a semester long project lol. When Trump won, there was a protest held outside the business school building by the libs, I left to get something to eat before my next class and when I returned there was a bunch of dudes with MAGA hats, Trump shirts and the Republicans club hung a gigantic banner on the building. Campus police actually ended up arresting a couple of them because they started pushing students and trying to block them from getting to class, a few were even spit on.

Was one of the lulziest on-campus college moments for me

I didn't even finish college actually, i went to a 6 month coding bootcamp (basically a trade school for programming), did awesome then aced my first interview. I've only been at the company for 10.5 months and the most stressful part was getting used to corporate culture. I was a server before, and the culture/people at this job are so incredibly different it is shocking.

It can be difficult to tell who is actually good at programming and who sucks, especially in a junior/software engineer I role. Some people I know have master degrees in comp sci but write most unreadable, untestable, buggy code. But if it comes to pseudo coding out a software architecture the same person may be a god at it. So the job can be stressful if you have a difficult deadline and are having to work with legacy code or with a language you have no prior experience with. Personally I've experienced very little of that, and I would think it is kind of rare because companies hire people to do what they are good at
