let's say when you get out you're gonna live in *******ville, California...find out who supplies their power (most likely Pacific Gas and Electric) and go to their website and apply. The utility company is who supplies electricity and gas (sometimes water) to their customers (hundreds of thousands of people, dozens of cities)...basically when you get your electric bill in the mail, whoever sends that bill is the company you want to try to work for.

Also there is the USACE (government owned dams) and BPA (government owned transmission/distribution lines. Both are awesome jobs that love to hire vets. You'd apply through usajobs.gov for those

Thanks. Yeah the contact I got is one of the 2 main electric companies in the phx valley and they want to hire veterans. I will probably look into that avenue. I have no idea if I would be good as an electrician, but will see what they have and what they look for.

That's just life man. Remember reading a story on here about a talented ER heart surgeon dying after getting punched because he told a dude to stop smoking in front of the hospital entrance.

Think of all the lives this man could have saved if he lived on. Instead this fukking scumbag who was smoking in front of a hospital basically doomed countless lives to death. I hope that scum got a life sentence.

Found the story here.

How do you die from a punch?

That is fuked though, makes you think about things and how life can change in an instant.

People die from punches all the time. Falling wrong, brain gets shocked, falling into a coma that you never wake from, etc. There have been people who slipped, fell wrong and hit their head and became paralyzed for life, lost their vision/hearing, or died.

If you really think about it life is so random and can be fukked. At any moment your life can completely change from unforeseen outside forces. That's why I am saying starting over at 35 is nothing man.

I realize to you it is seems like an insurmountable task but people everyday overcome more challenging life circumstances. You are still relatively young and healthy. You can make it. Best of luck bruh.

Let me tell you something, OP, if you're in your mid-30s and you're not "ballin", don't plan to start a family, and/or aren't doing anything risky professionally, then it's LDAR from here, boyo. I know those feels.

Pic of scumbag. No surprise here. Will probably get off with a suspended sentence due to his peaceful appearance.

Legit makes me angry that some worthless scum will be wandering this earth instead of a life saving heart surgeon. Life is just legit fukked up and pointless at times.

Also know those feels. In my 30s. Have a decent job, money, etc but pretty bored with life. You gotta take risks in life to reap great rewards. The older you get the less opportunities you get.

Really getting into crypto currencies lately though and planning on moving in the upcoming year to nyc. Gotta make some life changing decisions now otherwise I could blink and be in my 40s and still doing the same chit.

This guy is just milking for reps. There's no way you could only save for 1 year of living when for 10+ years you lived rent free & good money in the military. You should be loaded and your networth by now should be like minimum 20 years of income.

Guess that’s kind of my point. I was just stating to get things going, paid off all my debt, was making decent money, started to get savings, was thinking about buying a house and new vehicle and this happened and now I feel like it’s LDAR time since I have to start over. It hit me like a frieght train and I feel like my life is over and am dying now. I feel like I’m too old to make it. I know ppl have worse things, but I look around all my friends made it, I just got fuked over in life and feel like I’m a failure.

Nope, had student loans. I lived in Europe too and did a lot of travel. I’ve been in not even 9 years, I just payed off my student loans last year.

You can let it make you or let it break you. I ain't going out like that. Learn where you can, stay persistent, and it will build your character. If you don't have a redemption story you haven't lived life. Knowing the bad makes you appreciate the good. You gonna make it brah. Go get in the shower, wash the sand out of your vagina and tomorrow get going on your new life. It's an opportunity not a setback

It’s not quite that easy. If 15 years of your work goes down the drain (including college time) it has quite an effect on your psyche. It’s not like I lost a job I had for 2 years. Everything I’ve invested into since college is gone. I’m more resilient than most, but this has really knocked me back to the point of almost just completely wanting to give up.

All of this isn't adding up bruh. You should have tons of money stashed away if you were in the military for 9 years as a commissioned officer.

I hope it is a top tier program. Law schools are churning out too many grads and the pay gap between the students from top programs and everyone else is staggering. Dead srs. It is not even worth going to law school unless it is a top school. Best of luck.

Trust me I know. I'm not going unless I can get into a good program. I always have my degree in finance to fall back on. I've been a bank examiner and been successful in sales so my resume is fine. I'd like to get into some type of business law but anyway I was more or less just telling op chit happens to everyone. I just look at it as an opportunity to do the things that I made an excuse not to do before bc I was comfortable

That's for an O3 with 10 years base pay. No combat pay or anything extra. I just figured since you said you graduated with a degree you were a commissioned officer. Why the hell would you enlist?

My degree was not what they wanted. Making Officer is more than just having a degree, especially in the Air Force.
That still seems way high, there is no way there get 50k for housing. I checked the mil chart, base pay for an O-3 of ten years is about 70k. With housing and BAS, it is likely around 90k.

Edit: it’s 96k for 0-3 of ten years

Know that feel. In a similar boat. Making decent money right now but just bored with what life has to offer me now. Looking to make some radical changes in the upcoming 1-2 years. Setting myself up for a relocation right now. Looking into new ventures and eventually starting my own business with passive income on the side.

Otherwise you will just wake up one morning and realize you are old and still working for someone else. You gotta have a dream and a plan to achieve that dream. I think if I grind hard for the next few years to set myself up, my 40s and beyond will be coasting on easy street.

You gotta act now while you are still young, motivated and capable. In for some misc success stories in 20 years. We are gonna make it bruhs.

I would feel better if 29 in this position, but guess I’m not too much older. Mid-30s and starting from scratch, is chit.

You ever noticed that people that are always in a rut, all have the same mindset and think exactly the same? Your thoughts are going to manifest into your reality. Might as well think and meditate on good things. Save yourself the anxiety and just start doing. It's not gonna happen in a day. It will though.

Everything has been going great the whole time I have been in, got to live in Europe, interesting job, meet a lot of ppl etc. My job requires TS clearance. Anyways this year I was deployed middle east. I had some things happen that I will not go into detail, but I had a mental breakdown and ended up having to go to mental health. Mental health screwed me over, gave me a diagnosis that makes me lose my career in the mil and lose my clearance, now I can't get a job afterwards. This is all I know and I got a masters degree in the field that I work in because I thought I was what I would be doing for life.

Now I'm fuked. I'm 35. I have to start over from ground zero. I currently have no friends, no gf, no life. I am losing will and motivation to do anything. I find it hard to eat all meals in a day, barely it make it to the gym as much as I use to, I have lost about 8 lbs. I feel like my life is over. I have no idea what field to go into, I only have enough saved up to last me a year. I can live with my dad at his winter home (he only there like 6 weeks a year) and pay minimal rent/minimist life and make by with a minimum wage job if I had to or go work for him. Problem is I am losing my drive. I don't forsee a gf, wife or family in the future. I am pretty ugly now and women are just not interested in me. Part of me just wants to give up and go work for my dad and live the minilmist lifestyle then try to start over and make decent enough money to have my own home. I kind of don't see the point anymore. I mean if I am not going to have a family or a gf/wife, what is the point of trying to make it? I have worked so hard for the past 15 years (including college time) and now it is going down the drain...and I am just losing desrie/drive. Currently I find no pleasure in anything, I feel like my life has been robbed from me and all my work meant nothing.

Edit: Yes I made a similar thread, it got deleted.
Doesn't sound like they screwed you over, sounds like they made a good diagnosis. It's the same one I've been calling you out on forever. The FA's seem to have very similar issues and it comes back to mental health more often than not. It seems you guys join a website like bb.com to improve yourself in some shallow way instead of actually building yourself.

Now that that's out of the way, who cares if you start over at 35? Are you geriatric? The fck? I went back to school last year, 34-35, just got done and just got hired up at a job. I'm soon to be 36. That's life son. Get busy living.

Strong dramatic.

Just go back to school, trade school that is is. Learn your skill that's 1-2 years and get to work. You can do something part time while you're doing it.
