Why wouldnt they medically retire you?

You need a clearance, which I won’t have.

What diagnosis do you think they gave me? Problem is they made up symptoms. I have been building myself for the last 15 years.

A year and a half ago I lost my job over some BS that happened 5 years prior. It put a flag on my clearance. I cashed out my 401k, traveled, fukked foreign girls, partied pretty hard with friends and such, then I finally managed to get a job with a company that didn't care about the flag after months of looking. Worked a pretty low level IT job under the biggest bitch of a boss ever, managed to get an award from my company then promoted to a new job with a much better title. Eventually got another award and a 20k raise. Now I make a ton more than I did before it all happened and just got my new fresh clearance without any flags. I went through a bunch of BS and stress but managed to come out on top. You can do it too if you really want to. Try to stay positive and focused. Make things happen for yourself again. You've done it once before. If not then it's time to LDAR but I hope you don't choose that path boyo

You had a flag and did not get it revoked. That’s a big difference. If I had my clearance still, none of this would be an issue for my future.

We all know the higher you go, the more BS it is but people on city councils and boards, even some congress people actually make a difference. Plus, people love voting for military veterans for public office, enlisted or officer, it doesn't matter.

Ever considered a career in Wind? I lost my job in Oil and Gas, after devoting my career to it, and had to start over at the same age as yourself. Im not making anywhere near what I was making in O&G but have been in the field for a little over 2 years and am making close to 30$ an hr.

Also, after working in Norway in O&G, my company saw that I had experience living overseas and are now transferring me to work in Sweden this January. Lots of opportunity to travel and advance in this field. Also the ability to work around the globe if you have drive.

We all gunna make it.

just wake up every single day do what you need to do without complaining because it's just a waste of your energy. formulate a plan, break it down, and start working gradually to get it done.

I realize this. It’s taken awhile to get out of the denial stage and move forward. I don’t think it is unusual to get depressed after losing a career.

It's never too late to start if you set your mind on it.
I migrated here in the US in 2010, just 3 months before I turned 36.

Although I didn't have those medical issues you had, it was also hard for me getting job due to:
- I was already holding a high position for my profession and was doing the thing for 13 yrs.
- Have really great experience and projects but all outside the US. Employers fear that I will look for a more fulfilling job elsewhere and will not stay.
- Due to my experience and previous position, they wont entrust me even fresh grad jobs.
- It was the tail-end of the 2008 financial crisis so competition was really harsh.

I finally got a job after 8 months from landing in the US. Spent almost all the money I saved going here and was assigned in the western MA (Berkshire) where it will be too depressing for someone like me who's always worked in huge metro cities. But I had to do it because I have kids to support.

You at least is single, you can always start somewhere anytime. Just dont feel that you need to hurry up due to your age. Just take it one step at a time.

That’s the thing, I had so much motivation when I joined, when I started my masters, but after this happened I just feel dead. I’m trying to ignite it, but having everything taken from me is destroying it. I just have to find it again.

You didn't have everything taken from you. You've obviously never had to suffer in your life if you think this way. You have a year of money to live off of. Try living out of your car and not having enough money for rent you fcking *******. Goddamn you're one entitled piece of ****.

You won't find motivation each and every time you need it in life. In fact, there are many times where you will feel motivated to do things that may destroy your future. That's where discipline comes in to play.

Stop searching for an answer to past shortcomings or a clear roadmap to your future. The time you spend searching for such answers may never result in any meaningful conclusions. Instead, get off your ass and start somewhere, ANYwhere.

Set up clear, concise goals and start achieving them until you have secured a place as an apprentice tradesman making some money. Go from there.

Here's an example for this week if you were to pursue a career in the trades:

- Log off right now and start looking at trade schools and apprenticeship in the area
- Spend 1 hour on each of these trades and figure out what you like:
1. Electrician: pay attention to - lineman, low voltage, high voltage, PLC / Automation
2. HVAC
3. Plumber
5. Welder
- Start looking into requirements for obtaining a license as journeyman and master tradesman for the trades you pick. See how much experience you need and which tests you need to pass.
- Start applying for apprenticeship.
- Set up a timeline to where you can hold a license as a tradesman

There you go, that should get you going for a week at least. Once you start getting a taste of success again, the old drive and fight will come back. The fire doesn't light you in the ass you dumbass, YOU have to light the fire.
