Many Christians would argue 'you have to profess a belief in Jesus Christ as the messiah' or some other similar definition, but all of those same Christians will pick and choose what they believe themselves from the bible. So if they believe and follow verse x but not y does that then make them Christian or not Christian? Therefore without any formal objective definition that everyone can agree on, it can only be looked at subjectively.

Likewise, you can say you're Jewish, and it is so. The question itself is completely open to interpretation, and thus subjective anyway in more ways than one... Is she talking ethnically? Or religiously? I could be an ethnic Jew but practicing Christian, for example.

Assuming it's a religious question, you could change faiths every day, or even every second if it suits you, furthermore you could even belong to more than one faith at once if it suits. So what if their a conflicting beliefs in each faith? Just pick and choose what parts you wish to believe from each religion like everyone else does.

So if you answer 'Are you Jewish?' with yes. It's not a lie. If the question was 'are you a recognized member of a Jewish denomination?' or 'What synagogue do you attend and how often?' it would be a different story, these are objective questions, not subjective ones.

So really, when girls ask 'Are you Jewish?', what they are actually asking is.. 'I am looking for a long term partner and I want them to think and act in accordance with my Jewish beliefs, will you do that?'. With enough game, getting her to realize that's the question she's actually asking, saying you are agnostic or athiest, and that she can still have exactly what she's after with you, you could probably turn alot of those girls around without having to outright claim you are Jewish, but it's probably not worth it for a lay anyway, especially when there's absolutely nothing wrong with answering a subjective question with a subjective answer...
