There's nothing you can get in marriage that you cannot get out of it. Meaningless risk.
A life long friendship with someone you love? Tax benefits?

My parents have been happily married for 35 years, my wife's parents have been happily married for about 30 years. My wife and I both come from very close families with good values as well as incredibly good financial values (which makes a big difference). We're sure we'll be with each other for life.

I hate being the bread winner says resentful working mother-of-two
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/ar...other-two.html
Another extreme being pushed to further your agenda. She's basically taking care of the entire family and every bill while the husband tries to find stable work. With finances being the number 1 reason why marriages don't work, I can see why they're in trouble. Also, how dumb were they to continue to have their children in private schools, and huge universities instead of public school and local community colleges to alleviate some of that debt.
What women really want: to marry a rich man
Women still want to marry men who are better educated and earn more money than them, a report finds today.

"The idea that women dislike being financially dependent on men is a myth, with more choosing to “marry up” now than did so in the 1940s, according to Dr Catherine Hakim from the London School of Economics.
After decades of gender equality campaigning many women now find it hard to admit that they want to be a housewife more than they want a successful career of their own, she said."
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukne...-rich-man.html
This is how every marriage should be done, but as others have pointed out, most go into it ignoring huge red flags which almost always ends up destroying the marriage.

You can never fancy a man who becomes a house husband
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/ar...g-verdict.html
Yet another extreme you are using to push a narrative that only affects a small percentage of marriages.

Women more attracted to men in expensive cars
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/...sive-cars.html

"It appears that the stereotype of women being positively influenced by a man's status is true and, evolutionarily speaking, this makes sense. However, even with the growing number of women in high-paid careers and the fact that they can be highly successful has no effect on how attractive they are to men. What you find is that thesenew, wealthy women still show a preferment for high-status males."
You're focusing too much on the extremes to push your narrative. I like how you cherry pick reports from daily mail to help. It's common sense that smart men and women alike want someone who is successful and has potential to earn more money in their lifetimes.

You can never be sure about something that can change at any moment.

It's like saying, "I am sure the wind will blow east for the next 40 years", when at any moment, for any reason, it can suddenly blow south.

Marriage is a gamble with no reward and all risk. If it goes bad, you can lose everything. If it goes well, great, but you could have had the exact same situation without a government contract involved that says if it doesn't work out, you lose everything. A long term relationship without marriage is all reward, no risk. A marriage is all risk, no reward.

I know why people do it though. Because their friends get married and they feel pressured. Because their girlfriend pressures them into it. It's all just fuked up human nature.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

Articles just give real world examples to match the statistics of a near 50% divorce rate in western countries. You're the one that chooses to ignore facts, not me. And women do choose partners to marry based on their wealth. That is another stone cold FACT.

Are you slow? All the articles YOU chose were all biased towards your opinion on marriage. What I'm saying is it's common sense that smart women would want men who possess wealth and status just like smart men would of women. What you posted really has nothing to do with what the OP asked anyway.

Once you get married the sexual life gradually decreases, once you get your first kid, the tour is over.

There are no valid reason whatsoever to get married nowadays.

What? A pic in a tshirt and jeans is hardly "posting pics of tits" ...and is certainly far less flesh than many display in their avs. I actually posted that in a conversation with a female miscer. We have boobs and my natural shape is different from my strapped down av.

I'm actually proud of, and confident in, my body (particularly after 2 kids, srs illness and years going by) and your ridiculous attempts at being demeaning are just that. Who gives a fuk? Why do you?

I chat to lots of different people about lots of different stuff for interest, fun and basic amusement ...some are intrinsically charming and enjoyable, others are diverting in other ways ..I rather enjoy your own particular brand of tabloid driven anecdotal angst about marriage despite its repetitive nature.

I am happily married, have been for 17 years ..Marriage is fukking awesome right now ...it isn't always, it's RL.

If it helps reassure you my feet are in my husband's lap and he and our youngest are watching Stranger Things ...I'm sharing space but I'm not that into TV. I'm not gonna live in his pocket much as he doesn't in mine ...how cloying would that be?

So a couple I know just got divorced after 35 YEARS of marriage. 8 children (srs)

For all the people in here saying they've been married for XX years and how it's going to last forever because...stuff...or <insert bible proverb here from Jaymz>, it can happen to anyone. Sure, it might be great and you might die together, happy and old and all that, but you're 100% delusional if you think that you're somehow immune to it just because you're happy now and a certain time frame has passed.

I've seen numerous couples 20+ years together call it quits and this is when everything seemed like it was good the entire time. I just can't believe the couple that got divorced 30+ years married with all those kids. I haven't talked to the father about it, I imagine he must be crushed. He's also the one supporting the entire family.

Just LOL @ your storyline! You took a pic of your cleavage from a revealing angle and posted it on a forum full of young men! We all saw the titty pic! What exactly were you trying to achieve? Flirting with younger men despite your "amazing marriage"?

Awww I was horizontal ...and dressed the way I'd been dressed all day ...how very very upsetting for you ...I'm sorry to have scarred you

A forum full of various people of various ages, sexuality, cultures and genders ....

When you are gauche in your interactions with others and uncomfortable in your communication I suppose you could see having a joke and a laugh as flirting ...I am the same with women (and I'm straight) and old men. You seem obsessed by the "young male" angle ...lots of people I interact with seem to be in their late 30s plus

..you do get this is just words on a page
