Hard to tell what will happen with these markets. I figure all I can do is have a portfolio put together in a way that makes sense to me and one that I feel comfortable holding steady through some rough times. Hoping like most here that alts can get a good run soon, but also wondering what will happen to many alts if institutional or wall street money time their entry into a post-fork bitcoin correction. Good thread though and good luck all.

I have DOVU, POWR, and MOD right now along with BTC. I'm still looking for other coins that have small market caps and may have flown under the radar during this entire BTC rally/alt crash. WTC is still a good buy IMO and should recover to its pre-fork prices, but I got into crypto to take high risks and possibly earn high returns. I'm not in it to play it safe and get 50% gains. People forget that OMG, ANS, WTC and even ETH were once risky af coins. But those that took the risks in buying them early on made a ton of money.

walton said they had something "bigger" than their wallet and own chain.

perhaps their idea of "bigger" was the child chain implementation they made, but i was thinking it was something else. im hoping so at least, and im hoping that would be released shortly after the fork

anyways, the amount of coins in circulation for walton means the price will move quickly and it could get expensive quickly

Is BTC actually correcting? $6,900 on Bittrex right now. Been so long I can hardly believe my eyes. Shortly, the fresh buyers will start to panic.

I feel like it'll bounce back up pretty quickly as always. Who knows tho.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

I've played this fork pretty well so far, tethered at 7400$ and now I'm looking to get into alts. While I decide what alts to buy this is what I came up with, could use some opinions.

Supply Chain Coins
I'm really bullish on blockchain tech being used in the supply chain world. So far Walton is the flag-ship coin for this niche but there are other coins that are coming in. I've bought Walton, Vechain and MOD from this niche and here is my reasoning.
Walton:120mil marketcap
Walton already had a big run-up prior to the fork bull**** and its run was cut short due to this. On the other hand, they've delayed their blockchain release by almost 2 months now (its happening in Jan) so this was possibly one of the reasons for its huge dip. They recently released a letter and they claim to have finished their RFID prototypes and it is apparantly cheaper and more efficient than what is available right now in the market. This is kind of big. Their pipeline looks something like this, all of these will probably help it increase in price post-fork:
1. RFID and off-chain testing in Nov
2. Dec-Jan is release of wallet, blockchain, masternode etc. (they also said that you dont need a masternode to stake your coins but having one increases your reward.)

Vechain60mil marketcap
Vechain is basically walton but without their own hardware but better networks. Theyve been around a bit longer and have much better connections and partnerships than walton (PwC, Givenchy, and possibly BMW). Half the marketcap of walton and is not listed in big exchanges yet (just got binance listing but only on BNB, soon BTC and ETH should start). A lot of their stuff is set to release in Q1-Q2 2018 but theyve got several conferences and exchange listings coming up this year.

MOD30mil marketcap
Mod is also in the supply chain niche but targets Pharma unlike walton and vechain which are in retail. This has a tiny marketcap and a lot of hype from reddit/4chan etc. I posted about it when it was at 15mil marketcap and I was very bullish on this coin back then, still am now and I can see it going 2-3x from here post-fork.

Energy Coins
In general, energy coins might become the next big thing with hype from curry teeka etc. The following two coins seem to have the strongest team from my limited research, Solarcoin seems like ****.
Grid+ 30mil marketcapGrid+ has a really solid team and a company behind it (Consensys). They ****ed up the ico by unlocking the tokens so the price crashed since people started trading it on ED. I picked some up at a heavily discounted rate (0.0022 while ico price is 0.0037). Their ico will run till nov 10th or something so this puts a cap on the maximum price it can hit till then (it wont go above 0.0037) but after that is done there is a lot of scope in the energy sector.
Powr 75 mil marketcapI think this is a bit overbought at this point but I'm keeping an eye on it. Elon musk hype etc.

Other
Unikoin Gold 25mil marketcapEsports gambling is gonna be big. You see tournaments like The international with prize pools of 20m+ and this **** keeps increasing every year. This coin is currently trading at around 30% below ico and should get exchange listing soon (it just started trading yesterday or something) according to the CEO. Its been the most successful esports betting ico so far and I think it should do well short-term. I have my doubts though so i wont allocate a big part of my portfolio for this.

I'm looking at DOVU, Link and REQ as final coins to buy but I'm still not sure. Anyone got anything else to shill?
Fork the world up

i think btc has another leg up but im not sure its as great as people expect. with how large those other runs were i would be surprised

what happened last fork was btc took off, then dropped a bit, then took off again, the stagnated.. and the day previous to the fork made a run back to its ath before the fork where alts immediately jumped like 10%

with this being the bigger fork i suspect there will be more people moving back to alts because they stayed in btc for both forks

Anybody send ETH to the ethconnect wallet from bittrex? Bittrex says they do not support transactions to an ICO?

I think this is a myth, and I believe that institutions wont ever buy the actual crypto tokens, they deal in paper markets only where they have the power to manipulate. if you believe that traders at jp morgan are going to log into exchanges and buy your cryptos from you and make you rich then I have a bottle of cure-all id like to sell you.
