Supply Chain Coins
I'm really bullish on blockchain tech being used in the supply chain world. So far Walton is the flag-ship coin for this niche but there are other coins that are coming in. I've bought Walton, Vechain and MOD from this niche and here is my reasoning.
Walton:120mil marketcap
Walton already had a big run-up prior to the fork bull**** and its run was cut short due to this. On the other hand, they've delayed their blockchain release by almost 2 months now (its happening in Jan) so this was possibly one of the reasons for its huge dip. They recently released a letter and they claim to have finished their RFID prototypes and it is apparantly cheaper and more efficient than what is available right now in the market. This is kind of big. Their pipeline looks something like this, all of these will probably help it increase in price post-fork:
1. RFID and off-chain testing in Nov
2. Dec-Jan is release of wallet, blockchain, masternode etc. (they also said that you dont need a masternode to stake your coins but having one increases your reward.)

Vechain60mil marketcap
Vechain is basically walton but without their own hardware but better networks. Theyve been around a bit longer and have much better connections and partnerships than walton (PwC, Givenchy, and possibly BMW). Half the marketcap of walton and is not listed in big exchanges yet (just got binance listing but only on BNB, soon BTC and ETH should start). A lot of their stuff is set to release in Q1-Q2 2018 but theyve got several conferences and exchange listings coming up this year.

MOD30mil marketcap
Mod is also in the supply chain niche but targets Pharma unlike walton and vechain which are in retail. This has a tiny marketcap and a lot of hype from reddit/4chan etc. I posted about it when it was at 15mil marketcap and I was very bullish on this coin back then, still am now and I can see it going 2-3x from here post-fork.

Energy Coins
In general, energy coins might become the next big thing with hype from curry teeka etc. The following two coins seem to have the strongest team from my limited research, Solarcoin seems like ****.
Grid+ 30mil marketcapGrid+ has a really solid team and a company behind it (Consensys). They ****ed up the ico by unlocking the tokens so the price crashed since people started trading it on ED. I picked some up at a heavily discounted rate (0.0022 while ico price is 0.0037). Their ico will run till nov 10th or something so this puts a cap on the maximum price it can hit till then (it wont go above 0.0037) but after that is done there is a lot of scope in the energy sector.
Powr 75 mil marketcapI think this is a bit overbought at this point but I'm keeping an eye on it. Elon musk hype etc.

Other
Unikoin Gold 25mil marketcapEsports gambling is gonna be big. You see tournaments like The international with prize pools of 20m+ and this **** keeps increasing every year. This coin is currently trading at around 30% below ico and should get exchange listing soon (it just started trading yesterday or something) according to the CEO. Its been the most successful esports betting ico so far and I think it should do well short-term. I have my doubts though so i wont allocate a big part of my portfolio for this.

I'm looking at DOVU, Link and REQ as final coins to buy but I'm still not sure. Anyone got anything else to shill?
In regards to your SCM coins, have a look at Ambrosus:https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/amber/

This is the VeChain for the West. Use-cases of Modum are VERY limited, basically a temperature sensor for pharma and that's it. Ambrosus team is the most solid I've seen in a long time, doing things step by step, not rushing onto exchanges as they work hard on regulatory/legal side of things, which means the really solid exchanges like Bittrex and Bitfinex will be happy to see them coming and there won't be any hiccups accepting them. Still under the radar, doubling their team, attending tons of conferences and very communicative.

It basically holds your coins(or you sell or buy coins at) USD value. So if you were to sell OMG today for example, but did not want to trade it for BTC, because you did not want the value to fluctuate after the sell, you can choose to sell for tether instead(USD value). As far as I know, tether itself is not redeemable as USD though, so you would still have to trade for BTC, ETH or something that you can see for USD. It's like keeping the value of your trade on a hold(tethered to USD value).

If you cash out your crypto to USD, you will have to pay taxes, with Tether that's not the case.

Because most exchanges do not offer direct USD transactions(except coinbase, gemini, kraken, maybe 1-2 others). Tether lets you keep your money on the exchange in a stable state, ready to make a purchase of coins immediately without having to first purchase or transfer BTC or ETH to the exchange in order to buy coins.

I'm pretty sure any crypto trade where profit was made is a taxable event in the USA, tether or not, unfortunately.

Tether is not cashing out. You're just parking your money. Tax is only calculated on actual profit which is withdrawn in fiat.

would say up to $25M-$30M or $50M for a real solid product. $50M parks you somewhere at the bottom of the top 100 market cap coins.

Brahs I see BTC struggling to get up now..... thinking the race to sell it is about to start soon...very early

Anyone got any news as to why its struggling to break over 73-7600?

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone wanting to double or triple their money, but I do think its a good pick to go along side index funds and other forms of traditional investment. Its slow and steady so far, and POS should hopefully blow the top off and then offer some nice dividends to stake.

My 10x coin is BAT. I should probably buy some more at these sale prices and check back on it in 2 years.
True on ETH, its a safe bet that will provide slow-medium growth

Why you like BAT so much? Lots of whales there also.

Teether USDT will collapse one day.

They are not really backed by US dollars as they say. That is main reason they got kicked out of USA.

Only store dollars long term on regulated exchanges.

As for storing dollars, I am cashing out a bit.

This uncertainty is making me think some chit is about to hit the fan.

BTC could collapse and drag alts with them as many people here and elsewhere said they are cashing out and waiting.

Anyone here check out Cardano? Seems like a legit competitor for Ethereum. Plus they got Charles Hoskinson at the wheel, ex-ceo of Ethereum.

- Huge amount of papers:https://iohk.io/research/papers/

- Their blockchain is made in Haskell, a language suitable for financial operations (they got Philip Wadler on their team, creator of Haskell)

- Their paper on their DPOS consensus algorithm, Ouroboros, is provably secure and peer reviewed by a major crypto conference (crypto 2017) and several universities.

- A governance and treasury system similar to the one found in DASH

- A virtual machine which will support a plethora of languages, including solidity (so in theory ethereum dapps could be ported to Cardano). Their VM is being developed by runtime verification, a company which has also developed for NASA and boeing...(https://runtimeverification.com/)

- Team of about a 100 people.https://iohk.io/team/

- Everything is peer reviewed, and has been in development for 2 years. Their ICO was held in Japan only, so that's why most people hadn't heard of it until now.

- Strong focus on sustainability and scalability (they want to shard, prune, compress, partition the blockchain in the future. Sidechains also on their list.)

Currently around 2 cents, but I see this baby around 20 cents when the smart contract layer goes live. Thoughts?

price doesn't matter. it still has a 600MM marketcap, 10x increase would put it to 6B marketcap. I don't see that happening short term

Short term no. Long term this is poised to happen when they release their smart contracts layer.
Ethereum was floating around a 500MM market cap for over a year before it jumped up to its current height.
