That's bull****, they should let them think twice about their code before bailing them out yet again.

The first parity hack didn't get a bailout btw.

Zen with that j00cy pump
Das it mane
Das it mane
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

Another reason why this shouldn't be fixed in the next fork is that this is not a flaw in the protocol. It's a flaw put there by the parity devs in a smart contract. They should let this be a lesson for them. There's not one reason they should fix this.

Crazy tinfoil conspiracy theory comment on youtube about the fork
"You keep saying bitcoin will do well long term, and dipping short term. But you are ignoring the fact that bitcoin will take a completely different dynamic after the fork. This fork won't be like the other forks. The 2X chain has massive support, from miners and the biggest bitcoin companies. Their goal is to have 2x implemented as the main bitcoin chain, not as some alt coin, this has been their clear intention. I understand that most people are supporting the core developers and nodes, but value is determined by where the money goes. Supporters of B2X see that bitcoin is not offering many things, like the transaction speed, whereas alt coins are, hence increasing competition against bitcoin. They want bitcoin to satisfy as many needs as possible and not have people going to other alts, like litecoin. You need to weigh the probability of the following events: 1. Market whales dump their BTC for B2X, initiating a bear market and major sell off of BTC making a bull market for B2X 2. Miners point their hashing power exclusively to the 2X chain, making it the superior network. 3. People not moving their BTC as there is risk of replay attacks, freezing their assets..... This could cause BTC value to be completely overtaken by B2X. Exchanges still haven't said which chain they will refer to as the original bitcoin for the long term, leaving the possibility of B2X becoming the main bitcoin. Once institutional money pours in (they are all on standby waiting), it could be lead right into B2X. Look at what happened to Ethereum and Ethereum classic. No one is seeing this coming because the core supporters have a bigger voice and larger population. However the 2X supporters have all the money and power, what actually matters.
I feel like people are referring to bitcoin as if it is a given that it will be the more valuable coin. The 2X coin can very well become more valuable. Futures are already trading at $1,000, making it the second most valuable crypto, and it doesn't even exist yet. That means bitcoin will automatically fall by 1K as soon as
the fork happens. Then whales can dump their BTC to buy B2X at a fraction of the cost. Wiping out the BTC value (down to 2k) and pumping up the B2X price (up to 5k). Making it a ridiculously profitable trade. Then all the miners will move hashing power over to B2X, and then exchanges view B2X as the main chain. Completing the hijack of Bitcoin.
Am I crazy? Or is everyone crazy for not seeing this coming?"

If you only hold btc however, it shouldnt be of much concern since you will get both the coins. Just holding on to both of the coins and selling the one with lesser support after a few days seems to be fine. The problem comes if you held alts before fork, sold it on the pump for btc and then btc lost its value to b2x. Since there are no B2X markets for alts you are now shafted because you hold more btc than you had before but the value of each btc is worth a fraction of what it was.
What I'm gonna do is, hold alts for the immediate post-fork pump and go into tether and then see which chain wins and buy into that. If there is enough fear, people are not gonna stop at selling btc for tether post fork, theyre gonna sell alts to tether too.

Another strategy that I thought of just now was buying b2x futures. If b2x comes out as the winner, each b2x future that u bought now will become a btc.

Any of you guys heard of B3 coin? Figured I'd just make you guys aware of it cuz I've got some good ideas from this thread before, so not trying to promote or anything and not affiliated with it but it's been really good to me so far. Started with $300 investment just over a week ago and I'm up over $2k profit from the staking, beating inflation quite easily even with it's extremely low prices and inflated supply. It's a proof of stake coin that will be the first to run masternodes and build it's own decentralized exchange. Very active and helpful community as well. And their developers were involved in 4 highly successful past projects, one of whom used to be on the Segwit team. Worth looking into. I'll go into more detail if anyone here shows any interest in learning more.

"You keep saying bitcoin will do well long term, and dipping short term. But you are ignoring the fact that bitcoin will take a completely different dynamic after the fork. This fork won't be like the other forks. The 2X chain has massive support, from miners and the biggest bitcoin companies. businesses like b2x because its larger block size allows them on the blockchain
however, mining it is the less profitable coin for miners.
its gonna depend on what miners do.
i saw that support for b2x had gone down, but it was still significantly supported
