Oh, I missed that. Well, wtf OP lol, don't stop contributing. You have to realize you may have kids, may have surprise medical expenses, and have to account for inflation. $2m 30 years from now will be like $500k now (or something like that, you get the idea) you're ahead of this race, don't sit down and relax now.

He's precisely as rich as successful as he makes himself out to be.

Look up his previous thread where he cracked the sads about having to line up for his welfare payment.

Yeah, that's a dumb idea op. You have a serious blessing to understand how investing works, how compound interest works, and to have a big chunk saved up at your age. You stop now you'll regret it forever. Inflation is a pain in the ass and we're guaranteed a few recessions before we get old. Don't rest on your laurels yet.

there is your problem. dividends don't compound. if he uses the dividends to buy more shares, that's the same thing as buying more stock. you switched the formula from 150k(1 + .07)^38 to 150k(1+.07/12)^38*12 which is suggesting the asset will perform better

I'm a lazy **** anyways, I'm smart and have high IQ but I just can't do things that I don't fancy at all, my attention span is literally terrible. Don't really mind living like an average guy anyways, my needs don't require me to be above average in terms of income, only thing I truly wish for is to somehow having made it in my 50's so I can retire a bit earlier

Edit: I looked at the graph again...why are you using monthly compounding, that makes no sense.

Over the past 30 years or so, the S&P 500 has returned 7.52% (inflation adjusted). As a rule, you should assume the average investor is not going to do as well as the S&P as professional investors usually do worse than the S&P. So, the 7% I went as high as anyone should go, especially when you consider he suggested using DRIP with a retirement account.

Here is an idea of how important the %'s are

6% it's 1.3 mill
7% its' 1.9 mil
8% it's 2.7 mil

I used 7% to be chariable and to show that even with 7% he still doesn't reach the most liberal definition of millions
did you also factor in dividend growth rate, and dividend splits, and dividend reinvestment discounts?

Include the expected annual savings from income, compound that annually, he'll do very well. Keep it up OP. Don't get flashy too quick.
I got my skatepark, and i'll have my winter getaway soon. until then i am focasing on refilling my TFSA, as i cashed it out when i twas at $74K to put a down payment on this property. So my goal is to top that back up and then focus on the RRSP again.

Do you think I'm an idiot? I'm not going to just type in some generic formula...Here is my process:

1) Step one: Determine your portfolio. I hired a PI firm to analyze every piece of information they could find on you. After spending thousands of dollars, looking at every single piece of information available on you I was able to create a criteria for what you may invest in. From there, all I had to do was test this criteria against every publicly available fund and allocate how much you'd put in each company. Easy.

2) Step two: With a pretty good idea of the companies you may or may not invest in, I just had to analyze the companies and estimate the performance over a 38 year period. It's pretty simple to predict a company's dividend policies, performance, and retained earnings so this didn't take long. So, I have my models.

Step 3: A lot of people say, there's no way you can predict 38 years into the future. These people are idiots. I ran a DDM on the expected dividends to make sure they matched up with the company's market cap. Obviously, this means I did it correctly.

Step 4: Finally, I just applied your money into the models and out popped the returns. So, of course I captured all the dividend splits, dividend growth, and dividend investment disconts (???)

He's probably doing something like that. Keep in mind, that shift work is probably 60 hours a week or so. So the math kind of checks up. If you can get into the oil field, even if it is just pushing a broom, then almost everything pays six figures.

It's the same thing for the Aussie brahs who work in the Kimberly area.

no, but once I am debt free, I can use my rental income as a form of passive income, and i could quit full time and work on my own terms as a casual. But i think i'll keep grind it out, i mean for the most part i would say its easy money. but then again I have almost 8 years of experience under my belt.

He's probably doing something like that. Keep in mind, that shift work is probably 60 hours a week or so. So the math kind of checks up. If you can get into the oil field, even if it is just pushing a broom, then almost everything pays six figures.

It's the same thing for the Aussie brahs who work in the Kimberly area.
current wage is $43/hr

and i get paid insane overtime rate for coming into work when i am off the clock for ER orders.

brb make $3k in a weekend, and 4-5K if its a long weekend or holidays.
