Which is one reason why I didn't invest into BTC back in 2013 when I researched it - I just saw scalability problems as a huge problem.

I finally decided to invest in the past month just because I realized it's a bubble that isn't likely to end anytime soon. Crypto price is so much about psychology.

brahs srs question, if you had 10k cash rn, what kind of portfolio would you build and store in a hardware wallet and not look at it for 3 years.

I am leaning towards 30% ETH, 20% ZEN, 20% OMG, 20% NEO and 10% WTC.

Any opinions or suggestions?

If this were to happen that would either screw the ppl holding ethconnect into making it even more obvious it's a scam or have a whole bunch of people jumping over to ethconnect. Either way I still don't mind the gamble with ethconnect.
They're hemorrhaging money fast. Doubt people who get scammed once will willingly get scammed twice.

The only one of those I would trust for 3 years is ETH, and I like all of them but 3 years is a long time

The coins seems decent. Percentages are up for interpretation I guess.

Personally even tho I don't hold much BTC right now and don't really plan on owning much more, if I were going to sit on coins and not look (is such a thing even possible?) at it for 3 years, I'd park some money in BTC for sure.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

BTC, ETH, NEO, OMG, maybe WTC - with % allocation based on risk tolerance.

I find it cute how people think there is much actual analysis to crypto. The more I've looked into it, the more obvious it is that it's nearly random outside of the coins that are obviously going to fail. So much volatility and market manipulation by whales. You think anyone predicted BCH to go up 80% at the highest today? Those who do make money based off analyses are mostly just making money because all cryptos are trending upwards, or they gambled and picked the right one that pumped up. Thinking you can predict when a dip will occur or when it will reverse is just gambling in the end. Most big gains or losses have been over the case of a day if not hours recently, instead of gradual dips over time. The only reason most people are making money is because probability is on your side with most "legitimate" cryptos eventually increasing in value.

well, there are definitely random events that no one can predict but i dont think thats the case here

btc's been having problems. the details of this fork could have led you to bch

but btc fukin cancelled the fork. i wrote posts how i had no idea people weren't more pissed about what happened.

well, it looks like you had a mini exodus of people from btc to bch. bch if you were doing research previous the fork would have been a good bet for anything. could you foresee 80%? prob not.

this fork was pretty srs. business, and, again, it was more about people flowing en masse due to the cancellation of the fork and btc's troubles as opposed to random buys.

i also read something about bch having a fork - someone posted it earlier. that could have something to do with it as well

outside of whales, PnD and such manipulation, technical analysis does have some merit.

You can say this all easily in retrospect but in the end anyone that predicted it was mostly right because they gambled. BTC just as easily could have soared to 10k because the uncertainty of the fork was over. You look at different crypto forums and everyone just makes baseless declarations "I bet BTC is going to hit 8k today", "BCH is going to skyrocket tomorrow", etc. and then if they're wrong it's never broght up again. If they're right they act like they're some market oracle. There are some concrete trends, like a bull run will be met with a correction, but trying to say something will triple in January or double in February is wishful thinking.
