Ive tried trading, but If I just bought and hold\d since summer I would have doubled my investment. Ether is the only coin I can say will definitely increase over time. Wait for the fallout of bch and btc to decide on that, IMO.

Dont decide on what I just wrote, seek opinions analyse charts last 6 months and make your own choice.

Most importantly only put in with what you will be fairly ok to lose.

depends on your risk tolerance. compared to the regular markets, crypto is highly speculative and volatile. there are no blue-chip stocks like GOOG, AAPL, etc.

investing in regular markets, (i.e. etfs, mutual funds, etc) and keeping a diverse portfolio iswaysafer than crypto. that said, the reward is much lower. 15-20% gains year after year, decade after decade is amazing. But in crypto, you can experience significantly more gains or more losses.

on a personal note, 33% of my portfolio (excluding 401K/Roth) is in crypto. 66% is in low-risk/low-reward ETFs/MFs that track the market and industries. I wouldn't advise going all-in 100% on crypto if you're worried about losing the entire 20k initial investment.

at the end of the day, your only losses (or gains) are the positions you close

would suggest you not blow your load at once but average it in a bit at a time. we could be up 10x next summer or down 10x, no one can tell you for sure.

We should be playing this BTC/BCH drama smartly rather than sitting back and waiting for all alts to make a comeback. I had a feeling install sentiment towards alts would favor those with a working product or close to it vs. good ideas. This article kind of outlines/forecasts that:

Please be careful with BTC. Get ETH if u have to. Switch to the real Bitcoin (BCH)

We have strong support around 6150, 5800, 5000 and if things get very bad then 4400. These numbers aren't exact but are a good guideline. I humbly suggest if you're in this game either learn the fundamental side or technical side otherwise you're just gambling.. well you're gambling anyway if you're trading 90% of these **** coins but please educate yourself before you blow your account up!

Also, I strongly encourage you to read this about BCH, the most knowledgable people in crypto believe BCH is a scam coin and I'd likely agree. Doesn't mean you can't make money off it, but don't get caught up in the hype. This is not financial advice, do your own research blah blah just trying to help people out because there's a ton of new people in this space that are unawares as evidenced in this thread.
Who is this guy? Seems like he was bribed to spread that misinformation. SRS

Tell me why is bitcoin's reddit censored whereas BCH's is not?

yeah sadly, its still not as manipulative as the regular stocks and futures. They had decades to root in their ways.

yeah it would be very smart if holding for a year. Make sure u transfer all coins somewhere safe (not exchange)

I would split it like this: BCH, eth, and then some low cap alts for 10x returns.

1/3 each BTC has gone up too much and might die so I wouldn't hold that.

This is what I would do in ur situation with 20g

You can get it from Bittrex which is semi-regulated in the USA but its still not safe to keep it long term. You can deposit their with BTC/ETH (BTC is hours slow lately) and trade it for BCH ticker bcc which is Bitcoin cash only on that exchange.

Then transfer ur BCH to a wallet u control on paper or laptop. It will be fun for u to play with this.

I wanted to buy a lot more when it went down to $300, friends said wait
Then it doubled.....thought it will come down just a hundred.....it did not.
As it was rising I got in at 900 and sold at 1000 before bed thinking it will crash

It did not crash, but stablized.....now its shooting up even more. Luckily I got in at 1,000 and up already

Point is.....maybe its a pump or more likely it will keep going up and FAST stealing the show and value from every coin.

I don't think the FOMO hasn't even started yet. Most people, even in here, don't know what BCH is and how much more its the accurate version of the creator.

They will read about it this weekend. I expect it to rise more while others bleed. I just traded half my eth for more BCH

and you're buying in almost right at the top after it's already experienced a major pump expecting it to pump even further

You do realize that in most cases this is poor strategy and more often than not results in getting burned, right?

Yes I agree but BTC was hijacked. Luckily a few people pushed it and helped it grow.

All other forks are just BS

Whatever happened to BTC unlimited fork in March?

yes buying at the top.....but where is the top? We thought it topped out at 600....700.......750.......1000? 1200?

This will be my long term hold along with ETH and SMART .

I sold my ETC at 50% profit last week, wish I didn't....that is shooting up also for some reason

BCH is the real Bitcoin. No doubt about that. It will just take time for people to realize. Im surprised it has taken them so long already to be honest.

The real question is:

Will bitcoin cash be the king or some new alt?

Lots of people in here hating on BCH because they are financially and emotionally invested in BTC

I urge you to look at these:

Miners tend to follow the money

I'm staying the **** out of BTC and BCH, but might try to scoop some alt bottoms

This just feels exactly like 2 months ago to me with the China FUD. Bought BTC at 4900 and kept buying daily as it dropped all the way down to 3k. Now I had a daily buy as high at $7300 and plan to buy more BTC all the way down and have full faith it's still going $10k next year.

Right now with alts down and BTC down, all my profit has been wiped out. But if the promising alts and BTC reach new ATHs I will be sitting very pretty.
