I always set buy orders like 20-30% above the 24hr min is what I usually do. Most the coins will retract anyways near there in the following days I've seen (even if its like a real quick dip but it does) usually I always save myself money cause when I'm obvi fomoing in I swear it always takes a quick re adjustment to where my buy would have hit anyways.
ex - I was about to fomo into REQ at 900 yesterday and I'm guessing my buy at 818 will hit today

Looking at the chart, it's entirely possible we will see a price nearing 5K within the next week. This just feels exactly like 2 months ago to me with the China FUD. Bought BTC at 4900 and kept buying daily as it dropped all the way down to 3k. Now I had a daily buy as high at $7300 and plan to buy more BTC all the way down and have full faith it's still going $10k next year.

That's the thing though, is BCH capitalized huge on BTC having this correction and now has people panicking. I can easily see a scenario now where BCH hits $1.9-2k and BTC drops down to $5k and so many people will panic sell BTC and panic buy BCH. Then at that moment will be the time when whales will switch the gears on all those people and BCH will drop back down to $600 while BTC climbs to $8k.

I think this is the final push. BCH will be king as I predicted in Aug.

Took my money out of BTC the other day and stuffed it into ETH, think I lucked out - keeping it there for the time being.

It's funny on r/bitcoin it is a giant echo chamber and you are banned for saying anything positive about BCH but im beginning to believe this may be the start of an actual flippening where BTC starts a slow death spiral. The nail in the coffin will be if coinbase decides to add BCH in the next month or in Jan.

we all knew btc will retrace soon, now it's happening and it seems like you need to justify the dips in crypto (especially with btc) with some kind of fud news and uncertainty. I don't believe myself in bitcoin cash
imo after this correction we'll go to 10k in a few months until there will be some new fud because it would be time to retrace anyway. rinse and repeat

Everyone's arguing if btc or btcc will be king and I'm just here filling my req and amb bags. Not really too concerned. Anyone with half a brain knew their was going to be a dip. There always is when something gets such a huge pump especially bitcoin but now people need a reason for it to drop? 2020Wellness said it perfect a few weeks ago when he said it has to correct to around 50% in November and gave his reasons and evidence as to why. You're a great contributor to this thread and your thoughts are greatly appreciated!
Imo a lot of these new crypo people are freaking out their losing money after they've invested cause their clueless on the stock market and how corrections happen and it's not the "free money" they thought it be. That combined with the fork fuking everything up and the recent btcash news everything's in an uproar. Btcash can and might still be used for more transactions but BTC will still remain king and if for some reason the flippening does happen it won't be for months. Btcash will eventually correct back down to probably around 600 and if it's legit it will start climbing back up again. In a few days miners will start switching over to btc again because it should be more profitable. Miners are similar to us, always going to the most profitable coin so why not jump onto btcash for a few days. Anyways alts are taking a hit again and it's frustrating and might take longer than expected to recover but regardless things will start recovering and we should have a big bull year in 2018.

Fuuukk, late to this "party"
Just now awareing myself on all this crypto chit, skimmed thru the OP yesterday but just now sitting down with a large coffee and really reading into the OP more carefully.
Just wondering, for those of us without much "play money", but who want to "get into" crypto ASAP (to not miss out any further), is it still possible to buy "smaller amounts" of BitCoin? Say, like 1/8 BTC and etc? Can you do that with other cryptos? Or is it just BTC that lets you do that?
Other quick newbie questions I had:
1. Did BTC just peak? Or will it still go up?
2. Will ETH go up? Just casually glancing at some graphs this morning it seems to have been "stuck" at $300 for a while now??
3. Is it "safe" to partake in crypto from an Android phone? Or stick to a dedicated Windows desktop or laptop?
4. Is BitDefender "good enough" security to protect myself from crypto-hackers/thieves?
5. I've read horror stories about hackers using "social engineering" to port your 2FA number to their phone and break into your account(s) that way, should I buy a second burner phone to use with crypto?
Thanks boyos. Luckily i don't have any plans today, so got lots of catching up/reading to do

Wow, what a fuking ****show crypto has been for the last weeks. Is ONE PEACEFUL WEEKEND too much to ask for lol.
Segwit2x was the biggest bs ever, really rekt me hard after I had been preparing for it for months. Now in hindsight, it is clear that the whole thing was a huge con, it was never supposed to go through in the first place. Jihan Wu is an extremely smart guy and I can't even imagine how much money he and his cartel made on this bs.
Anyone who has read my previous posts here would know that I dislike Core, and prefer moderately big blocks to small blocks. I would have supported 2x, but now that it failed onchain scaling seems unlikely to happen on the Core chain. In my opinion, Bitcoin Cash is much more like the original bitcoin how it was supposed to be from the beginning. But I still see the Core POV, and why they think it is valuable.
All that being said, I would suggest you be extremely cautious hopping on BCH right now. There is extreme manipulation going on. The flippening, if it ever happens, is not going to happen over one weekend. The big price pump in BCH in no way reflects any real adoption at the moment.
The manipulation goes like this:
- Shill BCH hard everywhere
- FUD BTC Core at the same time (Perfect timing since the correction was coming anyway)
- Spam BTC blockchain full of spam transactions. The backlog of unconfirmed tx is over 100k, suddenly just like that on a weekend, with most transactions paying more in fees than the entire worth of the transaction. There is no way this is real, it is spam.
- Move hashpower to BCH causing BTC chain to work even slower
- Let mass panic and FOMO set in, people find out they are unable to move their btc and panic sets in even harder.
So, the risk averse crypto investor (maybe I'm the only one here) would try to hedge around 50/50 BTC and BCH, or stay in alts or fiat alltogether until things calm down.
TL;DR
be careful with Bitcoin Cash right now, and this is coming from someone who prefers Bitcoin Cash

Edit: I'd say ETH would be the best for risk averse investors atm
