This whole segwit thing really tanks my confidence in crypto. I was in alts, so the cancel benefitted me, but imagine the millions the insiders made 'knowing' itd be canceled.

Their CEO is having his first Q & A published on Nov 30th with updates on the company, so hopefully there will be some news then to pump the price. So it does seem like a good time to buy now.

Yeah I'm on the slack now, just been busy all day. Bitcointalk is just as bad in the sense that you gotta sift through tons of maximalists and shills and newbies to find good threads with content, but you're right, the real content is ALL on there.

Segwit2x was the biggest bs ever, really rekt me hard after I had been preparing for it for months. All that being said, I would suggest you be extremely cautious hopping on BCH right now. There is extreme manipulation going on. The flippening, if it ever happens, is not going to happen over one weekend. The big price pump in BCH in no way reflects any real adoption at the moment.

The manipulation goes like this:
- Shill BCH hard everywhere
- FUD BTC Core at the same time (Perfect timing since the correction was coming anyway)
- Spam BTC blockchain full of spam transactions. The backlog of unconfirmed tx is over 100k, suddenly just like that on a weekend, with most transactions paying more in fees than the entire worth of the transaction. There is no way this is real, it is spam.
- Move hashpower to BCH causing BTC chain to work even slower
- Let mass panic and FOMO set in, people find out they are unable to move their btc and panic sets in even harder.

So, the risk averse crypto investor (maybe I'm the only one here) would try to hedge around 50/50 BTC and BCH, or stay in alts or fiat alltogether until things calm down.

TL;DR
be careful with Bitcoin Cash right now, and this is coming from someone who prefers Bitcoin Cash

Surely you aren't serious? If "they" is jihan and company and "they" are pumping BCH I buy it because "they" want BCH to become BTC for both legit technical reasons and the obvious control/financial issues.

Are you really suggesting that BCH is currently being pumped to $1.5K+ by a P&D who also targeted ETC and BTG? Thats not whales, thats like a whole ocean.

Obviously i don't mean some Discord group. BCH is a bit more complicated than that. There's some massive forces behind that. ETC and BTG, I have no idea about. But the fact that their all forked currencies is the common link. As far as to who's driving the massive volumes on those two, i'd say at least a decent amount of it is FOMO and seeing them as an alternative to the BCH pump

no, btc was much lower than 5k with the china ban stuff.

i was in btc before the first fork at 4600 . btc took off for the first fork around there
