The answer to this thread is all about context OP.
A.) In a powerlifting/dat-dere-accepting/bodybuilding gym.... it would be common place. Example: Dana Lynn Baileys gym is around where I live and everyone there is dat-dered out of their minds (as you would expect from a bodybuilding gym)...so 225 is common.
B.) You average LA/Planet?Anytime fitness is filled with people who are 9-5'ers, causal exercises mixed with some bros and more dedicated weight lifters. As such, most of the people here see steroid abuse and bodybuilding as mental illness and insecurity... so you wont see anything extreme here.
CONEXT OP, its all about context.

That being said if you want your 350 you could probably run Smolov Jr for 3 weeks and hit it. Srs

It would scare most people how many fitness models cant bench 225+. Cell tech, nutrition and technique play a greater role than raw weight

Alot of gym goers only want big biceps, everyday I see guys come in and proceed to do concentration curls as their first exercise. Most of others do half reps on Bench and never get anywhere.

At my gym I have yet to see people, even big guys, squat over 60kg.

As its been said 225 isn't rare, but it is that first tier of "mildly impressive weight". Usually its where you weed out the consistent lifters, with the seasonal crowd.
Are you not entertained?

I've been going to the same Golds since the day it opened back in 02'.
The first day I walked in, I was a few weeks away from 18 and was the only one benching under 2 plates lolz. Took me the better part of 10 years, but got it up to 4 plates. At my gym, 365 seems to be the weight where people start mirin'. We have a lot more "aesthetic/fitness" brahs now, but almost all the regulars do at least 275.
It's a commercial gym, but in a very meathead/brotastic area.

I go to the gym around 3pm during the week and see maybe 5ish dudes over the whole week. I'd asume around 5pm i'd see another 5+. So Likely 10-20 people at my gym actually bench over 225.
I see about 1-2 dudes squatting 225. Deadlifting I see 1-2. 1 girl squatting 225 and deadlifting

seen plenty at my local (uni) gym that hover the weight a few inches off their chest then get up and flex like they just legit benched.
actual touching the chest and then up? MUCH rarer.

It's rare at my gym.
But to be fair the guys who look like they can never do BB bench. They only ever do DB press with the 100's-125's for high reps so I'm assuming they can bench 225+ I just never actually see them doing it.
I see a lot of people doing 225+ elbow bends though. That's super common.

I'm more than happy with results from dumbbells. Will probably never go to bench again.

Very rare to see someone doing it
I see people lifting all the time and they seem dedicated, but no gains?
Is this the norm?

If you can contort your body like that and keep your ass and traps on the bench and complete a heavy ass bench press be my guest. Respect because that's fking amazing. 500lbs is 500lbs. Anyone can try it, few can successfully do it. "I could bench press 500lbs if I arched like that"... okay then do it. "Oh I'm not that flexible". K den

same ROM, one guy just arches his back so that a 5 inch ROM will touch his chest. if you make fun of the first guy, you cant say the 2nd guy is legit
