mind blown how emotionally invested people get with their cryptos and ride the sinking ship to the bottom of the ocean. saw a TON of these types on verge during their fraudass "wraith protocol". they'd legit be ready to fight over twitter to defend XVG. it's all about the money.

Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

How are coins value determined? Is it market cap divided by coins mined?
You see some small market coins worth less than a penny and others worth several bucks

The marketcap is supply * dollar price

A larger supply is going to be cheaper per coin and take more volume to move

I'm guessing mined for their marketcap. But some coins have circulating supply vs. total supply

Which would suggest they release more coins later. Anyways, using the supply cat at coinmarketcap should work

Wait so if btc is at

16, 681, 850 of a total supply of 21,000,000

They're getting pretty close. And transactions take however long now. Once they get to 21,000,000 theyre going to be dealing in incremental amounts right..

Meaning bitcoin would be way, way slower to mine

They're pretty close to their scaling problem. Not that that wasn't known but I didn't realize they were so close to their total supply

You should read up on the mechanics of Bitcoin/Blockchain a bit so whole thing will make more sense.

Mining is basically just processing transactions. You are rewarded for doing that with an incentive. For bitcoin, it is a set block reward (12.5 Bitcoin per block, with that number cut in half every 4 years) and you get all TX fees. The scaling issue is that each block is only 1Mb and transactions take space, because they are little codes. 1mb per 10min roughly equals 7 transactions per second. That is constant. As time goes on, the mining reward per block goes from TX fees + 12.5 BTC, to 6.125BTC, and so forth until all coins are found. This has no effect on transaction speed or throughput, only on profitability.
We are all gunna make it

I didn't know the details that intricately.

So bitcoin is at 16.6 mil circulating supply of their 21mil total supply.. what happens when bitcoin gets to 21 mil of their circulating supply?

I get that 21 mil is scarce, but i dont understand where this factors into anything..
