quick question if I were to purchase an item with my btc gains without cashing out to FIAT would that still have to be taxed?, trying to figure out ways to not pay tax without ending up in jail and legal ways on any gains I intend on making.

Yep, every purchase with BTC constitutes a sale of property. The IRS views BTC as property.

darn it felt like a grey area since the gains are hypothetical until i cash out? and since btc is meant to be anonymous and decentralized from banks as i understand it, would seem impossible/difficult for them to prove it right? ( the more i think of it it sounds illegal lmao question is am i willing to role the dice though)

would that be the same in South Africa? ( I know the IRS is american but, surely things can't be that different?)

Latest email from PBC:

Hi, Teeka here...

In case you weren't able to join me on last night's Q&A call, let me get right to it and fill you in on last night's big announcement.

I spoke with my publisher, and we've decided to close Palm Beach Confidential to new subscribers.

You have until Friday at midnight to join... after that, we are closing the doors.

Let me explain why we're doing this.

Over the last few weeks, my team and I have spent a great deal of time and energy making available a number of resources...
We built a Crypto Academy where we shared videos on my system, how to invest in Bitcoin and altcoins, how to open a wallet, and my strategy for turning a few dollars into life-changing sums of money.
I then invited you to join me on a nearly 2-hour-long emergency briefing, going in depth on why I believe 2018 could be the best year yet for investing in cryptocurrencies.
I sent to you a brand-new presentation where I further shared my investment philosophy and strategy for finding big winners investing in cryptocurrencies.
And then last night, I asked you to join me on an extensive Live Crypto Q&A, answering questions submitted from your peers on this incredible investment class.
You've had access to all of this life-changing information, and I believe we've done a great job sharing it with you.

And judging by the emails and comments we've been getting, it's been well received.

Frankly we've added more new subscribers than I expected us to.

So we've decided to stop accepting new members.

I want to shift our focus now to providing the best possible experience for every member who joins me on the journey and work toward fulfilling my 1,000% gains guarantee.

My reason for closing Palm Beach Confidential to new members is really as simple as that.

If you want to guarantee you will be able to join Palm Beach Confidential then you need to do so now.

We have no firm date set for reopening, but my publisher believes it won't be until possibly the second quarter of 2018...

At this point, what really matters is that we're still open for you to join, but only until this Friday, November 17th, at midnight Pacific time...

Go here to get all the details now and don't get locked out.

Sincerely,

Teeka Tiwari
Editor, Palm Beach Confidential

P.S. No one has the ability to predict the future and what is going to happen in the cryptocurrency market, but all my research and network of insiders believe 2018 is going to be a breakthrough year.

Join me on this journey before it is too late. Go here to get all the details.

well, some of the online precious metals dealers will take bitcoin, so you could theoretically buy gold, stowaway on a cargo ship and take that to a jewelers shop in asia and sell for cash and lay low for the rest of your life, but thats kind of a lot to go through just to dodge taxes.

In South Africa, any investment withdrawal under R40 000 for the year 2017 is exempt from Capital gains Tax. Over and above that you will have to pay tax

Sauce:http://www.sars.gov.za/TaxTypes/CGT/...Exclusion.aspx

You would pay sales tax (VAT) and possibly import tax and customs duties if you're buying from abroad. It does not count toward your earnings if you dont convert it to fiat. Crypto is currently considered a commodity at best.

However, you will not be able to purchase anything of significant value such as a house, big boat or a new car. Essentially anything which requires your KYC/FICA documents in order to buy. And get away with not paying tax.

Buying small items with BTC is kinda stupid, considering the exhorbitant transaction fees $6 - $20

My advice: Spend a couple bucks for a consultation with an accountant to discuss your situation with regard to taxes
I just came here on the internet to lie

Top divided by the bottom minus 1. ~30%. Hell of a flip. Nice work

Fixed

Alts on same pattern as yesterday. Hit lows about an hour ago and then rally for several hours. If it follows yesterday, expect daily high in a few hours.

I had a sell order on Zen yesterday and it got up to the amount, started to fill and then headed back down 10%. Got a whopping 0.7 Zens filled. Such is life in crypto.

BTC usually sees a pump a few days after the dollar loses value. And it looks like we're headed that direction now. Probably will hit 9k by the end of the month.

Guys, got a nice pump and dump tip.

https://support.binance.com/hc/en-us...s/115002790072

There's a competition tomorrow for Block Mason. It will pump the price. I'm going to buy now before the competition, and put a sell order at 30 percent higher.

Can finally root for BTC after dropping my LINK bags for it
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.
