Haha. In VA for work, but once I get home I will stop and pick up some bourbon and give them a whirl. I was shocked how "light" they feel. Genuinely just a double walled glass that is aesthetic.

The more I get into this game, and the more I sample new things I still dont know that I enjoy anything more than cheap ol Evan Williams Single Barrel.



I'm going to stop by the store after work today and pick up another bottle, and something else just not sure what yet. The Single Barrel is absolutely fantastic for less than 30 bucks, and less than 25 in some states.

used to be mine until they starting allocating shipments and limiting supply to my area.

now, it's hard to find. still cheap, but it's rare you'll walk into a store and see it on the shelf. a year ago or so it was as common as jack or jim

I do the Benchmark No 8 by Buffalo Trace. $20 for a 1.75 and it's actually better than Jim or Jack imo. For a "bottom shelf" whiskey I love it.

I like whiskey cokes (hot here in FL!) and don't need to waste the good stuff. If you're in need of a mixing bottle, check it out.

Has Eagle Rare for $45 and they ship it to you, takes a good while but it's nice if your access is limited.

Also just enjoy the way they share the history, flavor, etc. Nice site IMO. Prices seem to be about $5-10 higher than what I find in person, so I only order when I can't find it. They carry some rare bottles at times.

Went to my favorite spirits store to pick up something new, maybe Michters or Tincup. Walked out with another bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel and a bottle of Evan Williams 1783 instead. I fail every time

1783 is a underrated bourbon considering the price imo.

Here's the stuff I got yesterday. I do like it, but it's really sweet. The aftertaste is like a Wurthers candy or something. But for $17 with tax, I am not complaining. I still like the Single Barrel by a large margin.

I genuinely don't understand why people drink whiskey with ice. I'm really not trying to sound like a snob here but to me it's like putting ice in red wine. The few times i've tried it it got watered down and cold whiskey just tastes weird to me. Am I insane?

I can easily go a month without drinking.
The older I get I go by the motto: Drink less, but higher quality.

I have one or two every day (srs). I will take a day off here and there - if I ever felt like taking a day off was hard, I'd quit drinking.

I just enjoy it. I'm also not out at the bars, just chilling home watching Netflix with the wife.

Anyone tried the 12-year Kirkland whisky from Costco? It's become my nightly dram - inexpensive, tastes fine despite the low price, and prolongs the lives of my nicer bottles

I have not tried it (don't see the point in getting a membership for a family of 2) but from all the reviews I've read on it it seems well liked across many people.

Yes, it’s good. My friend also had a 20 something Kirkland that as fantastic. I’ve heard lots of rumours about the where their liquor is made (ie: their vodka is grey goose, scotch is a well known distillery etc. (Macallan?)) not sure if any of it is true

I assume it would have to be true to some extent. Creating a brand new distillery is a huge endeavor and I can't see a company like Costco doing so just to put it's own brand of alcohol on its own shelves. I mean there's only a handful of distilleries within the U.S. that make the hundreds of brands.

im in kentucky so so my selection of truly top shelf Bourbon is almost limitless.

I highly encourage each of you to try Pappy Van Winkle if you are lucky enough to come across it.

Depends on your price range mate.

If you can't get top shelf old forestor is the best you can bet in that price range.

Jack Daniels is not a bourbon but its a good sour mash whiskey most all people enjoy.

If yoiu have the funds and want to impress you can pick up some basil haydens or four roses
