Those two-tone submariners are $12k, if you buy a new one. If you're not above buying used, I found a nearly identical model from 2002 for $3500 at the Rolex dealer at Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta.

I'd save a little more and get a Rolex Submariner. Speedmaster is a good option too. Breitlings are good watches, I have owned Three or four and never had any problems, but they don't really hold value like Rolexes or have the same brand recognition. If you are going to spend the money, might as well get something that is instantly recognizable as a prominent respectable luxury brand when anyone sees it. I have owned everything from Hublots to Franck Mullers and nobody really cares or realizes unless it is a Rollie.

best watch you can get for under 3k with chronology and bracelet is a speedy pro. I like this watch just as much as the ones that cost me 10k+

Would rather wear something obscure to non watch enthusiasts such as a Tudor or oris than a breit or Rolex. Some people like to get noticed though.

the last thing I want to do with a watch is to impress anyone, which is why I'd prefer the obscure brand.

I want a quality piece that I can wear daily that eventually I can pass down to my son.

I don’t mean this to be rude, but you should really learn a bit about watches before you drop thousands on one. That looks almost exactly like a Rolex - which it should - because Tudor is the cheaper Rolex brand owned by Rolex SA.
